HIF44 for 1974 Midget

Purchased this rebuilt unit last year. Used an aftermarket intake and all ran well for a year. Started having problems a few months ago (refusing to start, float sticking open and closed) and took the carb apart. Beware that whoever rebuilt my carb used parts that did not hold up. The jet separated (black plastic from brass) so I epoxied it back together. I also noticed that the float needle did not have the little wired catch to allow the float to pull it out of the seat. I ordered a new needle/seat, and jet from another parts supplier and will pull the carb again.

Way better than twins

Replacing my twin HS4s with this really put the car into reliable daily driver mode. It takes a big load off your list of hassles and you can go back to troubleshooting your electrical. Just keep that dashpot topped up (I use Marvel Mystery Oil) but you're used to that already.
