Des Hammill's, "How to Power Tune 998cc A-Series Engines" (small bores) has wonderful and easy to understand photos showing many clearances and specifications that should be checked and are too often overlooked. For example, you can plainly see how it is possible to throw hundreds of dollars at your valve train and not benefit because of incorrect setup procedures. There is not a more useful manual available at this price!
Finally there is a book for those of us with 998cc Minis. Practical and doable mods are shown to achieve maximum useful power from less than one liter. Chapters detail camshaft choice, distributor mods, A-Plus vs early, and fitting 1275 cylinder heads.
