MagDog - Parallel Bypass Cross-Flow Filter
Studies by industry experts, educational institutions, professional associations, and others have consistently determined that very small ferrous debris (often less than 5 microns in size) traveling through a vehicle's lubrication system may cause considerable damage to engine wear-sensitive surfaces. By contrast, a human hair is about 40 microns in thickness.

MagDog is a patented parallel bypass cross-flow filter (PBXF) sited between the engine and the full-flow oil filter. Its primary purpose is to trap and hold potentially damaging ferrous debris that a typical full-flow filter is incapable of capturing. The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) has determined that engine wear due to abrasive debris is a major factor in engine degradation.

MagDog also offers easy and quick access to the lubrication system through a provided port, which can be used for gauges, a connecting point for a bypass filter, turbocharger oil line, or as a clean port for oil sampling.

Made of strong billet aluminum, MagDog fits almost any spin-on oil filter. Installation is quick and simple, and maintenance consists of opening the chamber and cleaning the magnets about every 25,000 miles. MagDog has been tested by independent laboratories with extremely positive results.
