Can you please tell me if this item is period correct for a 1977 Mini 1000?

Yes, but as year of the car could be off a little, we suggest you confirm that your model can accept a 3 point system. On the "B" pillar which is the post behind the doors and the back edge of the seat your should have a hole for the shoulder leg of the seatbelt. When this is present- this belt will work for you.
