Women and the Mini - Mini Mania Inc.

Simon and I bought Max - now renamed Norris - at a car auction in Sydney, Australia, in 1977, for $550.  The attached photos are a few of many taken on our subsequent journey through Southeast Asia, Asia and Europe, before we shipped Max to New York from England, and finished the trip with a challenging cross-Canada drive to Vancouver, in early winter.

Thirty-four years later, he's still Simon's 'daily driver', fully restored and upgraded to 1275cc, from the original Morris 850cc Deluxe specs.  Other mods include front disc brakes and an alternator, poly bushes to tighten the suspension, a Webasto sunroof and various extras, both for looks and for comfort.

Auto event history includes trips to Denver for Mini Meets 25 & 30 in 1984 and 1989 and several entries in the May Vancouver All British meet at Vandusen Gardens.  No speed competitions yet - the car is certainly more of a marathon expert! - but we do plan another Southern California expedition this Fall, and Mini Mania is on the itinerary.

These photos may be a little dated, but we hope you enjoy their historic value.
Thanks for giving us the opportunity to share!
