Minor Series II 1953-1956

In the main the trim panels on the Series II models were identical to those fitted to the early MM cars, but the seat design and construction changed slightly  as can be seen here. The carpets although looking very similar were of different design as well. The Traveller series was also introduced at this time and you will see the necessary parts we manufacture of this model along side  the Saloon parts.

Although the front seats on all Series II vehicles look the same, early seats produced in 1953 did not have the more conventional envelope style squab cover, but a cover that was basically tacked to the seat frame and then a vinyl covered fiberboard backboard which in turn was also tacked to the frame. The only physical way of checking to see which type of seat you have, is to examine the back of the squab near the rear piping. If there is "decorative" stitch line just below this piping on the back panel, then this is an early type seat. The base covers are the same for both types.

You will not have what we listed in the headlining kits. These are not for the early cars with the plywood type headlining kit, but for later cars with conventional hooped linings. Although we mention the rear 4 door armrest recovering kit, we would suggest you send your old units for recovering as these can be a bit tricky.
