Take Your Pick On Mini...
A wooden dashboard, Sport Suspension Plus, heated door mirrors and an auto-dimming rear view mirror – it's all available on the dazzling new MINI. BMW has unveiled the full range of options this week, and the good news is that prices are just as competitive as the cut-throat costs adopted for the car.
Starting at £20 for an ISOFIX child-seat fixing system, charges rise to £1,000 for a full options pack. Trevor Houghton-Berry, general manager of MINI UK, said: "Minis always provided an emotional attachment for owners. They regarded them as their pride and joy rather than simply their car. An important part of that was the opportunity for personalisation, so we have ensured that the MINI's options list is unmatched in its class."
Three packs are available for the MINI One and Cooper, ranging from Salt up to Pepper and Chili. The £250 Salt features silver interior trim, floor mats, an interior lights package, seat-back cargo nets, halogen headlamps, passenger-seat height adjustment and a rev counter. For £300, the Pepper adds 15-inch alloy wheels and chrome bumper inserts, while the £1,000 Chili options pack upgrades the car with cloth/leather upholstery, leather steering wheel and gearknob, front sport seats, Sport Suspension Plus, 16-inch alloys and a rear roof spoiler.
MINI fans will also be able to specify an automatic, CVT-based gearbox (£980), head airbags (£200), a remote control alarm (£200), heated exterior mirrors and washer jets (£40), plus white or black contrasting colouring for the roof and wing mirrors (a no-cost option on the Cooper).
