Yes, that is the Kimes car. It is the Morris, he later switched to the Austin with the same paint work. The #55 Morris was sold to Roger Koch in 1968. The Kimes Austin in now with the Nelsons.

HERE is a pretty well written history of the back ground on the BMC vehicles used as support vehicles back in the early sixties-

Right you are Zip:

We always parked  along the road at the back corner of the track-With a double trailer and 2 minis, no way could we get down to "Campers Heaven" on the back side of the key Hole-

And just behind us at the back entrance to the Mid Ohio track were 3-4 Portable Toilets- Great!!

Although we did have some primitive facilities inside the BMC, it was tough to get to with bodies snoozing all over the shag carpet on the floor-

Speaking of sleeping accomodations it seems like yours are going downhill over the years Al the Big Bus to the Clubman Estate then the enclosed car trailer what next ???

That episode took place in '02, when Se7en and I were co-celebrating "milestone" birthdays. To mark the signicance of the event, we drove our Minis to Mid Ohio and took up residency in the tent camping area on the back side of the Keyhole. The monsoon hit after the GT5 party ended, while we were chowing down free grub at the turn 1.5 party. Upon our return to the encampment we found it to be a total washout, so we weaseled our way into the comfort of the Big BMC, compliments of Al and JJ. What a freaking memory.

What is this "tent" thing of which he speaks? Oh, wait...yes, yes, OK...got it. That's where the whole problem started. Laughing

Oxford Diecast announced a 1/76 scale training bus for 2013, at first in blue but probably some other colours will follow after that. Maybe the Bonhams one, maybe Big All's ex, who knows.

Btw All, there's a topic on www.minipickup.org about mini pick-ups with non-mini front grilles, and also a tow truck topic, if you have anything to ad concerning the mini tow truck I've see on some pictures parked in front of the bus, feel free to ad them, or send them in pm to me if that's more convenient to you.
