I have more pics, but here's one as it's getting closer to being finished. Enjoy...

I look forward to more updates on the bus and its many adventures. Loved the video of the MOALA club escorting it down the freeway...

Always enjoy reading about the travels of the BMC bus. I saw it at Mini Meet East Meets West in Illinois (2004?) when Big Al owned it - and I got the tour inside as well. I have some pics of the motor home interior. As Big Al mentioned, it then went a new home in Texas. Some time after that, I got a call from the owner in Texas looking to send it to a new home. It seems his hangar was overloaded with toys and a plane or two, as I recall. I brokered the sale to the California buyer - and it sold for the asking price of just $22.5k!

Here's the link to it on our website:  //www.miniguy.com/Consign2?id=8f4faf79cfaa043b26ff9b2c769239dd

After Mark Mitchell and his partner (who does incredible restorations of vintage trailers, among other things) bought it, the motor home interior - and shag carpeting - was quickly ripped out. Mark sent me pics as it went through the process. Sure turned out nice!

Unfortunately, when the bus went to the RM auction in Arizona, there was horrible weather that kept bidders away - and the current owner stole in the auction it for a fraction of its expected sale price!

p.s.- The BMC bus is another of the steal-of-a-deals that have passed through our website, including the Mini Sprint replica (w/chop top), the Radford Cooper S and some other finds. There was also a beautiful black Riley Elf convertible (Crayford conversion, I believe) on consignment in our former Ventura showroom, but the seller changed his mind and elected to keep in the family and gave it to his daughter... //www.miniguy.com/Consign1?id=b5ea4ba7a257a1786df613c2ae8ea51f

Always good to keep on eye on our site to see what might come up....

SHAMELESS PLUG FOLLOWS: (Err, I mean even more shameless that my post above...) We are always looking for really nice Minis - or other unusual cars that could go on our other "Consigments Too" pages. Please contact us offline at [email protected] or (805) 405-6263

Now, back to the big BMC bus thread....

John , Thanks very much for the link to your album on MOALA!  It looks like a great time.

Bremen, I'm sorry I can't record the show from HD, but perhaps someone else can do this.  Thanks for the link to the utube.

Best regards, MSH

The Mini's in next weeks episode are members of MOALA escorting Wayne as he leaves the Newport Beach area on his way to Monterey.  The bus is larger in person than you would think.

BMC Bus "update" or "backdate".  The Bus that Wayne owns (owned?)

On a primer for next Tuesday night's episode, Wayne, in this bus, is seen cruising around in CAL with a bunch of Minis ( Probably during the time of the Montery Historics ) on a program called "Chasing Classic Cars" on H.D. Theatre. They show him need to get a jump, and maybe even using spray ether to get it started?, when he exclaims that he needs a support vehicle for his support vehicle. ( Channel 663 on Comcast in the Greater Seattle Area )

On the last episode, Wayne, the main character of CCC is seen buying the bus for 50K at an auction.  He is also shown discussing the bus and it's attributes with the man offering it for sale at the auction.  During that discussion, he and the "previous" owner discuss the later version of the Perkins diesel engine installed, and also the way the bus could be Re-modified to allow it to carry cars in the back once again.

Other than this BMC bus, and the minis in next tuesdays episode, there are other cool LBC, many high dollar classics, and classic U.S. Iron on other episodes.  Check it out.

Best regards,

MSH

I saw the show last week where Wayne bought the bus at the auction for $45,000. More power to him if he thinks he can get $98k large for it!

He's going to scrap it - Look at all the crappy rebar & at least 2 forlifts showing there - We just scrapped out an English Double Decker - @$2k if picked thru pretty good of the aluminum - not really worth the time - it's got a broken windshield too. Is it still sitting there? I'm qualified now to make it into a motorhome. Are these 24volt?

"AL, should be a snap to ship and import. I'll find a cheap Caterham and we can hide it inside covering it with a really mouldy old tarp emblazoned with a BMC logo that no one would want to touch, ship to Baltimore, drive home dropping the car off at my house on your way to Wainfleet, ee-zee-pee-zee.
