Holy doodle...... Not sure who pays $1000 for a core/crap motor. ( even with ancilleries )
MM motors are probably $5000 because they are like new with warranty and built with some performance in mind.

I bought a runner 1275 for $750 from a "mini mover" type...will eventually need a build, but for now runs fine.

Another succesful moment of "Airing of the Greivenances" during Festivus.  Up next, "The Feats of Strength".

I figured the engines were worth about a grand a pop considering MM sells them used for $1160 or so.

Thanks Lamini your right. I just hate pushy car dealers. I guess no mater what kind of car they're trying, too hard to sell. Or in this case trying to get something from me, for his target price. I think they like mini money, more than mins. I bet they just hang around this site trying to sell $10.000 minis and $6000 engines. Its like going and buying a new Harley. Then the know it all dealer follows you to your house. Then hangs around, constantly asking, you if you need any new accessories?  How bout some oil for that new bike? Got a lot of new chrome in!      Huh Car dealers.  Novasuck good one.

Sorry I don't really know who's emailing me. They sound like desperate dealers, that assume I need the money more than the do. It's my fault. I should have said, about what I wanted, from the beginning. I have no problem giving some kind of guarantee that the motors are good. I still have $450 for every complete running 1275 w/trans anyone can bring me. I'll take a truck load please. oh "Cash Deal" of coarse. Sorry I didn't mean to offend everyone. Just 6 or 7 of you. Again I'm sorry to the rest of you Joes.

Hey Novasuck-

Lets get this straight, l never e-mailed you, never phoned you, just gave my opinion to your question on this forum-

If you are asking that kind of money for used engines, then put your money where your mouth is and be prepared to offer a warranty-

All I was looking for was $1500 each complete. Then I recived emails from 6 or 7 "mini mover" kinda guys (or their flunkies) offering nothing for them. But selling them for $6000 after they spend $500 making them fresh. One even wrote to me and said knowone likes me on MM now, so dont quit my day job? I dont care who likes me. Yeah Im an A***. Im not giving my stuff away. I'll make a go cart out of the motors, before I sell them for less than I paid. I dont need the money. I was going to buy BSA parts with it. Im not living off mac n chesse. Please no more emails from, work from home mini movers. Is that all thats on here?

I'd say if they're complete with carb and so on and they have good oil pressure at crankover and pass a leakdown test or pump good compression then they're $1,200 - $1,800 as a ballpark average going rate. Getting over $1500 they either need to be very complete, warranteed in some way, able to drive before purchase, or loaded with go-fast goodies inside. And this is also assuming the units are more-or-less expected to be drop in and drive units.

Any offer below $1K for a complete unit with all ancillaries takes balls. $500 on average buys locals a long-dormant austin america rebuildable core with manual tranny.

There are exceptions for everything, deals to be had, but I'm only speaking in averages based on my observations.

You said you were looking for a pick-up or van?

There was a '72 Morris Mini Van that needed some work on Craigslist in Chapel Hill, NC last month for $3500.

From my experience, l would say $500.00 each or $900.00 for the pair- Shipping on top of that-

Remember you are selling used engines, giving no warranty,so, out the door and its caveat emptor-
