LOL! Never been much for entering car shows, so you're safe.

Well, all we need now is to know what shows you'll be taking it to - so we know NOT to enter our cars in your class...

I don't remember the exact brand of undercoating Gunnar Gordon used, but it was a texture he and I liked.

Looking back at my notes, here is how the underside of the car was prepped and painted.

We used a zinc anti corrosive primer, then Awlgrip epoxy primer, and a light fill primer. Awlgrip is used on yachts and submarines that live in salt water - should be good protection for the Mini.

The bottom of the car has a variety of products: 1) anti corrosive zinc primer 2) Awlgrip Epoxy primer 3) light fill primer 4) undercoating 5) BASF Glasurit base coat color 6) then Glasurit clear coat

Nice job!

What did you use for undercoating on the wheel wells?

It has been a while since I've posted. Figured it was about time for an update.

I might be in the running for slowest Cooper S restoration. The engine has finally been rebuilt and is ready for paint.

Other progress...

Heater refinished, rebuilt, and screen printed.

[/url]

Original tape on helper springs, just cleaned up.

Yep, keeping it wet!

More during engine build...

Would that include New South Wales? That is where it was last registered.

It was South Australia that required flares on later Mk 1 cars.

Why do you say that? Just keep the subframes painted?

It must be an OZ specific part. Never seen it on a UK Mini.

That's a seat belt clip. I had factory holes for it, so I purchased them out of Australia. //www.minisport.com.au/prod1909.htm

I don't see this part on MiniMania, or I would link to their page.

Clip is for the 1965> std equipment lap sash front seatbelt. Clip is NLA now but I think repros are available.

I assume you are talking about removing the screws grinding off the weld and drilling though and Tig welding the hole back up? I'm talking about the rocker arms. It appears they may have been reprofiled I hope you had them heat treated. Nice work a real looker. Have you seen the new green on Toyota SUVs? I could live with that color. Steve (CTR)

Now, all I have to do is put all those pretty new parts back together into an engine. Then Gunnar puts a final coat of correct OZ Cooper S paint on it.

I've seen some cool restores, but not that many photos!! I am going to end Ho staring at those for days. I have a '73 that is unrestored and in very good shape. I really wany to freshen the paint job up though. So it's cool to get this many detailed photos! Awesome job!!!!! The paint is unreal!
