Typically in the past, the host club (including non-club mbrs that organized the event) have always had their cars on the front row of the panaramic photo.  Beyond that, the rest of the rows were first come first serve, except maybe the BMW Minis ended up in locations (due to size and blocking view) other than as they arrived.  Anyway, I guess the key to getting closer to the front is to line up early for the Rallye (which ends up at the picnic site) or volunteer to help with the event.  I would gladly accept volunteers that will work and make my job easier.

I wasn't really thinking special awards or anything. Heck, I'd settle for trying to get the "50th" models together in the front of the group photo. (Somehow I always seem to end up in the back row. )

"Just wondering if there will be any sort of special recognition given to the Mini models turning 50 this year?"

1961 was a stellar year for the Mini, as I guess they figured it survived 2 years in production and therefore they would add some variants.  That said, 1961 was the birth of the Riley Elf, the Woseley Hornet, the Mini Van, the Pickup, and of course, the 997 Mini Cooper.  So, considering all this I would have to say no there will be no special awards for models celebrating 50 years in production.  However, we certainly want all of you guys to come and join us for the Mini event of the year!

Thanks Howard!  For those of you that don't know it, Scargo (Howard) is the MME2011 Registrar.  So, please take his advice and get your forms mailed in soon.  It will help us out to pay deposits and it will help you by avoiding the late charges for post June 1st registrations.

I'd like to take this opportunity to post a friendly reminder that starting two months from today, the registration fee for MME 2011 goes up. That's right, this is not an April Fools joke. Starting June 1, the fee increases by $30 for each registration form. Please do yourself and the event planners a favor by sending in your registration form soon. While your reading this, simply click on the following link and follow that to the registration form.

Well, I have just got off the phone with another Mini owner who asked about the registration form for MME 2011.  This makes 5 this week that I have spoken to on the phone about it.  Just so everyone knows, the Registration Form is on the website: //www.minimeeteast2011.com/Registration.html

You have to click on the blue "registration form" text to download it.  Once you have done that, print it, fill it out, and then mail it to Howard.  Address and $$ info are on the form.

Cheers,

Hugh

Just spoke with my hotel contact/sales mgr, and the reservations are coming in quite well.  Looks like we are well on our way to a successful event!  Check on the Lodging tab for contact info for the Chattanooga Choo Choo.  Please go to the website: www.minimeeteast2011.com for registration form.  See you there in July!

Just got the Logo back from the artist, and Tshirts will be looking good!  We now have at least 2 commitments from parts suppliers from the UK, as well as several private sellers, so looks like there will be quite a bit to offer in the way of parts for sale.

Thanks Big Al!  Yes, everything has come together quite nicely, and I think it will be the event of the year!  I will be doing a few things that have never been done at a MM before, and I think the crowd will approve.  Anyway, Chattanooga will be filled with fun things to do as well as the Mini Meet, and the weather that time of year should be quite nice too.  Hoping we have a great turnout--please register early as well as making your reservations for the Chattanooga Choo Choo hotel.  See you there!

Thanks for the offer Hugh, but will probably leave early on the morning of the 4th, get over the U S border by 5:00AM and then motor down the 760 miles to Chattanooga and check into the HoneyMoon Suite (LOL)-

Nice talking to you to-day, it seems you and your crew have everything under control to be able to bring us another great MM East-

Big Al, if you are driving, you are more than welcome to come a day or two early and hang out with me and my family.  Can easily find you a clean bed for a few days.

Hello All, We finally completed the registration form for MME 2011 and I am proud to announce that we are now accepting registration forms (and money).  We hope to have the registration form online by tomorrow morning.  If you can't wait until tomorrow, I can email you a form if you like.  Forms have to be printed and mailed to Howard Collins, who is handling all pre-registrations.  I have put together quite a bit of things for us to do and see, and I promise that MME 2011 is going to be GREAT!  Hope to see you in Chattanooga...Mark your calendars for July 5 - 8, 2011!
