I really like what you are doing. Iam wondering what colour you are thinking of painting the truck. And why?

Equador has some nice areas. Fortunately it is a little better politically, but their Pres tries to follow the failed policies of ours. It is getting harder and harder to get anyone to work here. They are garanteed 15 months of pay for an average of 11 month's work.

A lot longer than planned, while I waited on the engine that never came. Also lack of time.

this is an incredible and long project. Somehow I missed seeing this until now. Thanks for posting all the pictures, and the oil/lubrication and other data on the company links. Happy New Year.

In the weekend I just spent in Tarija I got a few things done.
First put the rear wheels with 3/4" spacers on. From there we could see what needed to happen to finish the design of the flares, bringing the rear in closer to the wheel well and narrowing it a bit so it just passes the tire position. What you see here is the final design (except it is missing a little tail piece in the front.
Then the front discs. They will set the track 6 cm wider in front than the rears with the spacers, so the flares needed to be 3 cm wider than the rears on each side.
So a little forming, welding, forming, etc. In these pics the front one still needs some rounding, plus forming of the ends. But you get the idea. Then we will add the inner liner, welded to the inner wheel well.
Final design
heating to bend to wheel well

Windshield fits in its new home between the 75 and 94 (still have to have a new one made), and new rear window fits with the fabricated panel.

And for those who thought the seats wouldn't fit, here is one almost in position. I'm still going to lower it about 3 cm. I'm 5'11" and fit without the additional 3 cm, but I want to be lower in the cabin.

Body is now close to ready, with the cabin and fenders molded to the roll-up window doors from the 94.
Meanwhile I took an afternoon off and assembled the engine.
Following recommendations, I adapted the dual timing chain
I also made stainless trim moldings for the rocker panel seam

I want seats where I can comfortably drive the 600 miles between the two cities I live and work in.
But I will be positioning them in the car before finishing the floor to determine the height and placement I want, just like I did for the Corvair.

Nice seats- Just remember, comfy, plush seats are not recommended for a mini pick up unless you are 100 pounds and 5'2" tall-

Since the tail light bezels are no longer made, and I searched all over,, finally finding a set of lenses in San Diego, but no bezels, I made them out of beer cans.
here are the blanks, basically as they came out of the mold.
Some filing and sanding (all detailed on my site), and then the final buffing
Here are the finished bezels
