Great news Dave, now all you need to do is post a few pictures of your new unit.

Henry, thanks to searching on that site, I found another site called //www.mytractorforum.com/ which someone has uploaded a manual from one of these sellers on ebay... All 70Mb of it!
Thanks again :-)
It's been fun, but this place is done. I have no hatred, and appreciate the good times. But this place now belongs to Tony and his pink mini.

Cool forum,
Thanks!
I have tried the JD dealer - they will sell me a $120 manual, or offer to look over it if i bring it in, but not much else!

I was at an auction over the weekend, and wasn't looking to buy a Deere, but when the bidding stopped at $15, I figured I'd jump on in and ended up getting this for a great price.
So, I'm now the owner of a JD425 with 54" deck and 20hp v-twin motor, that is missing the back axle and a few other little things (hence why it was cheap LOL). I knew JD parts are expensive, and that decks alone sell for a lot, hence me bidding on it soley with the intention of parting it out.
I would like the get the motor running to verify the conditon for obvious reasons.
I am wondering if anyone has a manual for this tractor, so I can figure out what wires I need to make live, or touch to ground to get the thing fired up. It looks like the ignition ECU is mounted down by the bottom of the engine, and isolating the wires to the idiot lights and ignition barrell (also missing) leaves me about 4 or 5 wires that need clarification on...
Cheers all.
If anyone has one, please let me know either by email or on here...
