I value my motor at $15,000 because of the SC drop gears and SC CR gear box Extra layshaft bearing and cross pin diff. Is 135 hp enough? you bet! This thing spools up the revs real quick, and this motor is NA. The WOW effect when I open the hood is so cool.I couldn,t be happier. My 14 year old built a lego prototype of using this motor in the front of my exige, so somebody buy it before we make a twinixige!

The "secret", is to use the head from the BMW "K" motorbike and modify the internal bracing to clear the offending corner of the head. Not exactly rocket science. I don't know why there is all this confusion and disagreements about this.

So, once more - just for fun:

It's been fun, but this place is done. I have no hatred, and appreciate the good times. But this place now belongs to Tony and his pink mini.

A local hot rod shop had offered to do a speed blister for $700 with paint, so I was keeping that in my back pocket if I needed it.

Not sure if it was for a Twinky but someone on this board pocketed the engine mounts to make it sit lower in the sub frame, someone else spoke of using the wider auto subby. Come to think of it it may have been for a Sprint car replica but same theory.

Plenty have fitted them without any bonnet bulge, in fact, I don't recall anyon who has fitted it and needed a modification to the outer face of the bonnet.

will this engine fit without having to do any modifications so that it will clear the bonnet? i hear that the valve cover hits the bonnet even when one removes the cross bar member inside the bonnet.S/C claims it is a simply drop in. what info do you have about this that you can share?

Hello, as far as any fabrications that have to be done to the engine bay compartment, there is nothing that will have to be altered. any fabrication would be for the radiator mount and wiring can go thru existing empty grommet holes.with this being said any work done for the 16v will not harm the engine bat so if one wish at a future date decide to go back to originality, no problem and no body work or painting involve. the only modification that is need is to do some work on the inner lid of the bonnet to accommodate for the height of the valve cover. i have done my homework because i too have a 16v twin cam engine/tranny from SC that i am going to drop into my inno someday if i get the time, unless i get some crazy offer on mine that will persuad me to change my mine. as far as the products from SC, their products are excellent and if you want something special, think about it. you live only once.
