At $11,000 I wouldn't mind betting the seller is losing money...

SC stuff is utterly fantastic, their 7-port head has to be seen to be believed.

Some interest (Mike, did you get the build sheet?) - if anyone wants to see the build sheet they can email me or call, I have a bunch of documentation on costs and options I took.

A day and a half...

OK, I've been working off and on for the last couple of years on my '72, but that could just be my problem.  No worries, to each their own opinions!

Dave, I understand the choice to stay original.  Even with the lump bought outright like you have, there is still quite a lot of fabrication to do to finish it out.

The photos are great.  I finally got to see a shot of how Specialist routes the oil drain lines and all down to the gearbox from the plate on the cam drive end of the head.  Thanks!  And good luck with the sale; that is a good looking piece of Mini Tongue outorn.

Thanks Craig

Fab isn't too bad - it's just putting a new Walbro pump in the tank (I have it), and potentially blistering the hood to make it clear the cam towers.  Wiring is nearly plug/play.  SC has done it in 1.5 days, they said a couple of weekends and it's in.

Besides the motor here, I can also offer 99% of what was needed from a new exhaust (2") to silicone hoses, DSN steadies, etc.

yeah, they do an amazing job.  You should see the headers they priovide.    This engine is fully tunable via your PC via a USB cable.  This is the real deal, if my car wasn't so pristine/rare I would have dropped it in by now.  I had actually toyed with the idea of getting an older shell and doing a performance buildup.

This is a great alternative to the honda lump.  Keep your car mini with 2% BMW added in for fun.

I had no idea an A-series motor could look that awesome. Very sophisticated!

Hey guys

I have decided to leave my 94 classic stock and enjoy it.  I had purchased, waited for, and spent considerable time and money shipping a Specialist components 135hp BMW head 16V twin came 1380cc motor with electronic FI and ignition.  It's ready to drop in with custom beautiful headers, and everything you need to convert a Rover mini.  A minor harness change would be necessary for an older car.  Engine only has dyno break in miles.  Was very pricy, and took 6 months to build/receive.  Anyone interested?  Price has gone up and these motors are even harder to get into the US - makes for a 1 of a kind mini!  I wish I could have found a motor in the US prior to the craziness and extra costs I got myself into.  Give me a ring, I can forward the full build sheet.
