Clubby grilles do clean up nicely- Ryan A's grille in his clubman saloon is a perfect example-

Come on Ryan post a pic of your grille you spent 100 hours on detailing-

A bit of advice, use AIRCRAFT STRIPPER! I bought the spray on kind, let it set for 10 minutes on the grill, and the black paint just wiped off. Bam, Aluminum grill, like it should have been from the factory! Makes life much easier with the stripper stuff.

I like the all-silver grille on the Clubby. I have a spare one around here someplace. I may have to try that...Cool

The cardboard boxes Mike setup, basically they were on the sidewalk and had spectators draw on the boxes like the Berlin Wall, and then we slid it out onto the street and had a Trabi drive through the "Berlin Wall". It was entertaining. Def will attend next year was a very cool show.

Well this weekend was the 6th Annual Trabant Parade. Got the car done just in time. Was a fantastic show at the Spy Museum in Washington, DC. Had a total of 13 trabants, and 1 Wartburg. Came home with a trophy and 2 roof racks, I tried it on my estate, fits pretty good, will paint it up and probably use it. Cheers!

Yes, the Red 76 Clubman Estate I just collected last Thursday and luckily I had a lot of extra parts to "pimp" it out real quick. I sold that my Orange one 2 years back and have missed it very much, so when someone offered to by my personal Mini 2 months ago, the search was on. Brought it over from the UK, and passed customs, etc last week, and dragged it home from Baltimore. I love wagons if you can't tell. I have worked on over 38 saloons the last year, 1 traveller and thats it. Anyway, got big plans for it to show what I can do here. I'll post up some stuff as it develops.

And ZIPPY! I got the email, dammit! Talk about bad timing. Wife does not like the morgan, or the 62-64 lincoln continental. Oh well, atleast she is into the trabbi's and mini's, can't complain. Still if I come into some money I will def get one.

You, sir, are one Sick Puppy...and that's a good thing! No, make that a GREAT thing! SALUD!

The red RHD Clubby is exactly what I'd want if I acquired another Mini! Unfortunately, I've spent enough on the Mangusta to forestall that.

Motor on....

So I finally surprised her with is last Thursday, I had to do a combination of what I wanted to do. She failed to call me before I got home so she went inside and I moved her car out of the driveway and then hoped into the trabi and had the beacon light wirring and pulled infront of the house. I went running inside and told her quick come outside there is a cop out front and I don't know what's going on. So she came out and her mouth dropped and she muttered... you got a trabi? And she teared up for a bit, and was pretty much speechless for the next 2 hours. Of course we went for a spin, and then over the weekend she wanted to take it out 2 more times. She absolutely loves it, and said she will want to keep it forever since it has so much history to it. We spoke with her Dad, he had one when she was a kid, and he couldn't stop laughing. Who would have thought we would have one in America.

Anyway, I spent sunday morning tracing down and redoing a lot of the wiring, I now have almost everything functioning, brake lights, running lights, horn, headlights, accept the turn signals, it's missing the flasher relay. Anyway, I also lowered the rear and went from positive camber to now negative camber. Repainted the hitch, and exhaust. Just waiting on the seat covers, and front license plate holder. Cheers!

No friends in the area, and yes I have noticed it does stink up the garage! Might have to get it a car cover for the winter cause when you open up the garage it is intense, especially a garage with no vents in it. Anyway, got a few more parts in from Germany last night, so hopefully be wrapping it up this Thursday, and hopefully... show it to her this weekend.

Inform one of her friends about it and get them to drive her to the store.  Pull them over and then approach the passenger side of the vehicle and ask her to step out.  That way she won't be scared enough to have an accident and turn a great surprise into a tragedy.  BTW, Great looking car...just know that if it sits in a closed garage long enough it will stink really bad!

Got the new tags in.... just waiting for the custom flip brackets to come in. Getting close... can barely resist from showing her. I also purshased some 1958 bug seat covers, the seats were beyond repair, and hoping these will make due for a while.
