"They" meaning the gasket manufacturer I used." I just took notice our host is selling the MLS gaskets. I'm sure, as a supplier/retailer, they can fulfill custom requests.

The ones I used were Cometic, however Victor Reinz, Fel Pro, and apparrently others are also offering an MLS gasket now according to a quick google search.

My main install issue was I was using a ported head that had a pinhole in it through to the water jacket. I perhaps wrongfully blamed the gasket. However, I still seriously question why they emboss around the stud and pushrod holes to seal for water but the water jacket holes are flush. It initially appeared to me that the gaskets I was supplied were originally designed for an open-deck block design and not a sealed deck mating surface like the A-series has. I also needed to mushroom the rivet on the gasket that overlaps the area of the block where the engine number sits.

What awesome advice. Thanks for the details. 2 more questions. When you say "they" will make custom thickness and bore centers, who are you referring to?

And 2, mind sharing the difficulty you had with the first one so others don't make the same missing?

yes, I've used the Cometic MLS gaskets. My very first experience was horrible. After eating some crow, I admit there were mitigating circumstances and I was too quick to fully blame the head gasket.

Subsequent uses of Cometic gaskets have been trouble free. I've even reused used ones a couple of times. Block and head must be perfectly machined and a specific finish is denoted in the packaging instructions. They can be ordered in any thickness you want since they are MLS-- Multi Layer Steel. They just add more layers to make it thicker. I did this to lower compression because heads I had were skimmed to the spark plug holes and I wanted to run pump gas instead of race fuel.

I would and will buy them again.  They will even custom make them for you-- just send your desired bore centers to them.

These have been out for a few years now. Wondering if anyone has used one or if there is any feedback on them? Any detailed specs on these? Thickness, etc?

MLS (Multi(3)-Layer Steel) Head Gaskets 73.5mm bore engines.

Most 1275cc engines that are rebored to 1380cc are done with the bores off-set to improve head performance and decrease bore distoration.  The special head gaskets are not only designed for the increased bore size but have also been offset to match the machined block!  Perfect for street or race!

Provide maximum sealing performance for today’s high output engines and require no sealants. MLS gaskets are ideal for both aluminum and Cast iron heads.  MLS gaskets have increased strength because they are comprised of multiple layers of stainless steel; which also creates the ability to rebound and resist corrosion. The outer layers are embossed and coated on both sides with Viton (a flouroelastomer rubber based material that is heat resistant to 250 C/ 482 F). Viton is designed to meet the demands of a variety of harsh sealing environments, load conditions, and surface finishes. The center or shim layer is uncoated stainless steel, which can be varied to accommodate multiple thickness requirements.
