Brother Greg first bought his 1071 S in about 1972, sold it and then bought it back awhile later.  It's near original and he still drives it on a regular basis.  He also has a Morris Minor that he bought in 1972.  It's near hot rod perfect with safety and performance upgrades. There is also a beautiful 1275 traveler that has been around for at least 20 years.  Our #88 1275 S has been in the family for just about 25 years and has been raced nearly every year since.  First me for a dozen years then Greg.  There were alot of minis and other British cars that have come and gone over the years owned by the 3 Wold brothers.  Some for days and others for many years.  It's a sickness that can only be fed by yet another.

I bought my first Morris in 65 from my dad who bought it new in 1961 and my first mini in 70 or 71.  That first mini was an 850 dressed in bright lime green.  Junk, but it got me from A to B.  Ah, the stories...

Still have my yellow Mini that I purchased in March 1970 with my first real paycheck after the Army. So 43 years of ownership, I've retired and it hasn't. It has been to a bunch of MME & MMW.

I'm with Big Dog, I have wanted one for years and finally got one last year.  I now understand the memory of my dad, with his head under the bonnet, working on the engine!  He had one for a little while running his construction business out of it in England!  My mother then told me about them buying one in 1960 and driving it to the south of France, a little before my time but only a little!

I did a little project about the longest time owner of a Mini several years ago. I will find it and post here. Used to be a thread, but it has cycled out.

Yes, I guess I am just old too as I bought my first one in 1972 and sold it 4 or 5 years later. Went Mini-less for about 25 years.

Wonder where it is now?

I bought my first Mini somewhere around 1971 or 1972. Technically it still belongs to me, as I never sold it, and scrapped it myself, though all I have left is the chrome script from the back door (it was a Countryman).

Ive had Bluebox for 35 years, many of those years the car was in storage. The first mini I had was a van handed down to me from my sister. I was 14 and learned to drive a standard on a hillside driveway.
