AW- Glad you got home safely, would have been sad if you had been at LA X and been a victim-

LHD 's may scare you but RHD s' are driving me crazy-

Grant, you guys were a lot of fun! I'm glad you got to experience what a CMU event and the group is like. Yes, I was laughing as I pictured you trying to explain all of the parts for a 6' trophy to the TSA. Did they find the razor blades I hid in the base???

I will being doing the story for MiniWorld and I need you to assemble the trophy and take a good quality (high rez) photo of the 3 of you with the water and Sydney Opera House in the background. That will be proof that you came all the way to the Mini 54 and dragged home a 6' "furthest traveled" award. This is hard for me to type as I tried to catch a friggen boomerang! Thanks, seriously!!!

NOTE TO EVERYBODY that was at the Mini 54, I need your best 5-10 pics for the story and the website. Please email me them in low res, then if I use them I will get them in full/high rez... Thanks!

I just wanted to bring this topic back to the top , and to say that we arrived home in one piece , despite Mike's best effort with the trophy, are you reading this Mike? we got stopped at JFK in New york and had to explain the contents of one of our bags and have everything x-rayed twice (Mike is now rolling on the floor laughing).

Seriously we had a great time and mini54 was the highlight of our holiday, Thanks to all those who took us on as passengers your cars were great and the variety was awsome . To Justin ? in the black moke who offered us the use of his spare car on the final day we were truly grateful ,great gesture at this point we were enjoying passengering and looking at the scenery so much we just could not take up the offer THANKS (and LHD scares the crap out of me it is just wrong lol).

Mike, Ronnie, Rob, Gayle the run masters and the tow vehicle driver Jim and Brad well done on a GREAT event I will certainly be passing on the message and hopefully we will be back, maybe by then we will have reassembled that trophy!!

Mike and Rob

Thanks again for all the work you all put into these events. Smiles per mile factor keep us coming back for more. This week marked the 32nd anniversary of my first Mini purchase. I am glad that I still enjoy driving them and meeting up with old friends to drive the wheels of them.

Well that was fun!

Thank you everybody that came to the Mini 54! For those that missed it, you have to wait a year and a half for the Mini 56 in April, 2015.... We have new plans for 2 driving groups. There will be the Spirited group and the Touring group, something for everyone, if you like driving your Mini!!!

After all the welding and cross-breeding of two cars to make Special K, (I see a personalized tag in your future), I can see you firing it up and screaming "It's Alive!......... It's ALIVE!!!!"

That's a sincere pat on the back for a lot of work completed sucessfully, not a kick in the groin for old news, best remembered with a few adult beverages! As I told you in Cherokee, thanks for taking the loose wheel heat off me!

OK, OK, I enjoyed walking up to you and Jim Watson and asking if you knew each other. The three of us have spent more time together than we'd have liked to!

Yea Freddy.  The question that wont stop being asked... Hows your car running?  I heard it a million times around ya!

To be said - the Scavenger hunt had multiple "broken" mini parts turned in.

1 Distrubutor

1 Electronic distrubutor module

fuel filter

Thermostat

and we all know the moke was having fuel issues from a 48 year old fuel pump.

Hearing the work you did to make your swap and the miles accomplished this week seem like a success in every way, Seeing your tow rig was even cooler!

Alan,

Great photos. Awesome quick upload . Too much work to do to get thru them all!. Great showing. Thanks for your efforts doing this... You should be the CMU Historian...

Who ever won the Silly Award from last event, bird thing... I surely did not. That needs to be confirmed...

I will second that statement.

Don't know who got the bird at the last event we all thought it was you, if anyone knows or has it please let Mike or Rob know.

If in doubt, flat out. Colin Mc Rae MBE 1968-2007.
