Looks good. What brand of paint are you using?

Paint!!!

Painted the body last night and did the roof this morning. I think it looks great, there are a couple runs but nothing that won't buff out.

Will do the doors, boot, and bonnet this week

Block sanded the shell last night again with #320 grit, found a few tiny imperfections that will need attention, then hit the car with #400 one more time and it looks like we will be painting this weekend!

One piece rear door.

I wonder if D. J. Sportscars ltd. kept the mold?

Also the window is just flat glass... so that is not hard to get.

The question is? How much would it cost to produce and is there a demand for them?

I was at Spring Thing in Cocoa Beach 3 years ago and a vendor had a new rear door for sale in the original box-For $100.00 l bought it to have just in case-

Well "Just in Case" came at Ancaster Flea Market a year later-While unloading my wares to set up for vending , a wind surge hit the open rear door and ripped it apart (?)- No big deal, took the damaged one off and installed the new one-Not sure if l could ever find another one as they have been out of production for years-

Doug @ Mini City in Rochester NY also has one on his estate wagon-

Aftere having a 61 countryman and living the reduced visibility through the rear door windows I totally agree with Big Al. It also makes the back end look smoother.

GM Dutch door on our Safari is much better than the two single doors.

The company that made the door now makes kit cars.

The one piece fibreglass rear door takes the standard hardware and was made by D J sportscars  ltd. Swains factory Herts. It was sold to the PO by Mini Sport. It swings open to the left.

The interior was based on Wood N Pickett design. Interior is Corbeau. Car is deseamed. First appeared at MME 1981 in Ste Adele. Cooper S disck brakes, Super Mini Fins, Twin tanks, Paddy Hopkirk sump guard, 1275cc, weber carb, etc... My 16 year old nephew father son project with my big brother Steven . Only one mouse nest in the air box.  Had to get the next generation infected!

Nice finds!  Love that Estate shell!  Looks like it has a lift gate instead of barn doors (?)

I've had three 78 MINIs and have yet to have one with the spin on gas cap/neck

Deb,

With the dashboard, vinyl roof, deseamed pillars could the GT have been a Wood & Pickett? It may be worth investigating.

Ther was a mouse in the 78 as well, he left the seats alone, but made a nest up in the headliner, so what was once pristine was smelly and chewed up and will be replaced.

The Clubman estate shell is amazing!!! It is cryiong out to be Limeflower!

The rest of the barn find. Off the road since 1987. Unfortunately the planned project was never completed as the owner passed away.

Here is our latest purchase. Unfortunately the mice found the car very tastey. 48000 km . 1979 with the Canadian gas cap... Car is extremely solid. The headliner and the seats were the main meal and the dash was an after thought. In the pick up is the Clubman Estate Wagon (new factory shell) that we bought with a Clubman GT . The GT went to my nephew in Toronto.

I would suggest the plate that has the hole in it for the fuel line is ok. It does not need much but it definitely needs something under it not to bottom out.  Originally when the yellow band masters were sold here they came with a new pipe kit including the 10mm fitting.

My first Mini was Sandglow. Then after a mishap I had it painted Corvette Metallic dark blue.

I like the idea of two tone  Yellow with a really bright white but I think a light brown would look good too. What colour wheels are you putting on the car??? Depends what you are trying to accomplish.  Keep the car cooler inside or overall appearance?  There is a Mini owner here that painted his roof Tan to match his Webasto sunroof.

yeah, I like the idea of a white roof too, I think it will look smart. I think Dirtfordinner has a similar paint scheme and it looks great.

The marker lights will be staying, I kinda like 'em, and you can't have too much visibility in these cars...
