IMHO..6" is pretty much as wide as you should go.  As well as being heavier, the offset is invariably ourwards.  Both these things are non- beneficial...

I have had two sets of 7" steelies and both make the Mini tramlinr badly... ie it follows grooved/ridges in the road surface.  robably made worse by the tyres being stretched over rims that are too wide.

Cheers, Ian

Love you man but if they were 5s they would still be mine. Took me two years of looking to get two sets of 5 ea and one set of 4 ea together and some how I didn't end up with a set. Steve (CTR)

thanks Steve, these deep dish rim style looks great on many cars (I would not mind owning). It is quite interesting seeing how they are traditionally made by 'banding' or 'widenning'

Just out of curiosity, do you remember if mine are 4.5" or 5"?

regards,

Abel

BTW, I love the look of your new (to you) steel wheels. When I dropped off 22 steel wheels mostly reverse but some Cooper S at the powder coater I have no idea he would take forever and then double the price once done. I have at least that many 12s Rover minilite knock offs. I'm figuring at the new price for coating new are an option. I have picked up a set of drum spaced 6X12 minilite knock offs and they look really cool. With 165s mounted puts a lot of rubber on the ground. They will either end up on the Moke or our golf kart. Thanks Steve and sorry that our deal took longer than expected. I am more than chaffed with the end result. Despite what some ...sters say, I really like these wheels.  Some people just crave for attention.

You are one of the many helpful people on this forum who offer true and uninterested advice for many of us. I hope everything gets better from now on, despite the bad vibe that sometimes polutes this forum

Abel you should get the award. I have never had so many problems putting a deal to rest. Thank you for your understanding. As for this guy running around posting to every thread, at first I thought it was funny. Now the humor is sort of wearing off. You have my email and phone if you need me. Steve (CTR)

Much better than mine that got beat with the ugly stick.  I think they are ATS CLASSIC or some junk, happy to send them to anybody who wants 'em....$50?????

Is it hard to go to 12 or 13-inch wheels,,,,Do you guys have experience doing this?  I bet very few people remember you need to change the speedometer ratio to match the new diameter so maybe  a few speeding tickets lol

well, it has been over a year since I started this thread and I can gladly say that I finally got my (sought after) reverse rims thanks to the help and advise of Steve (CTR). He provided me with the wheels, tires, hub caps and even the allow drums. While I was at it, I decided to replace the traditional trumpets with adjustable rods and new cones, redo completely the brakes with the help of Doug K. Lawson. So, now I am finally ready to enjoy the car once again....albeit for little time. Winter is already upon NC (I know, nothing compared to the folks up north and beyond), so my driving will be limited.

Thanks to all who helped me get these wheels,

regards,

Abel

If you don't have any luck with having some made, I think I have a set of 4 1/2" reverse rims but would need a couple of days to gig them out.they are not cut and welded but genuine reverse rims.

Mousy

Stockton made me a set of 10x6" steel wheels from a set of very rough reverse rims a few years ago.  The end result was ok, but they took MONTHS to do them with constant follow-up calls.....but, they wasted no time charging my credit card!

Their first attempt was to section the rim, and ad a 'band' to make it wider, but they looked like sh*t, so I sent them back.  In the end, what I got was a Cooper S center, turned down to fit inside a new golf cart rim.  Much cleaner look, and a safety bead to boot, but I have VERY tight caliper clearances, to the point where I may need to remove some material from my caliper.

They came in two sizes: 4.5" and 5" with the 5s being very hard to find...and the 4.5s just being hard to find.

thanks for that information. I know reverse rims are all hard to find, but was hoping somebody somewhere had a set I could use for my car.

His were welded to make them 6" wide, very cool but in need of a good bead blast and powder coat.

Great, I can't cut n' paste... his ad is in the parts section, he's selling a white race car black top, name is Joe.  From Texas.

thanks Chris. I contacted Joe. I appreciate the information,

cheers,
