WOW Todd,
What rock have I been under to miss all this excitement? That is the coolest thing I've seen in a long time. What a chance of a lifetime! I'll understand next time I see you if your seat is dirty, no way you could ever wash it now. Congrats and awesome video too. Paddy seemed to love your awesome car as well. I'm so happy for you.

What a GREAT story. That is so cool. I am very jealous.
I have my wn Paddy story that speaks to the kind of guy he really is. A decade ago or so, I was sitting in my office, trying as hard as I could to NOT do work and I decieded to look up Paddy Hopkirk. Totally randomly, i came across his email address. I didnt really believe it but I gave it shot and wrote to it. I own a 94 Monte Carlo Rover and he is a bit of my hero so why not. I wrote a gushing letter and in the end, asked if I could send him a sunvisor for him to sign along with a picture of my car attached in the email. HE ACTUALLY WROTE ME BACK!!! I could not believe it. It seemed so far fetched. Why would this superstar write me back? Well, he is as you say, a super nice guy. We wrote back and forth a few times and in the end he attached a scan of the picture of my car that he had signed! Thought this was extraordinary. Not only that he took the time but that he went so far as to print it out, sign it and then scan it in and attach. I was well impressed. I was also VERY pleased to have had the experience. Full stop.
Well, about two weeks later I got a strange shaped envelope in the mail at my office. Odd because of the clearly UK paper size compared to the US. Would you believe that you actually send me the actual picture signed, plus a few other signed postcards. I mean, REALLY? I was floored. I totally didn't expect that. Didn't request postage or signing fees. It was just a straight gentlemen's gesture. The picture now hangs (very proudly) in my office. If he was a hero before, he has risen to God now:-)

You're so right Big Al. I "missed the boat" big time on this one! I'm sure Todd and Dr. Dave are still in dreamland.
More than one of us feels that we missed the boat big time! Paddy was just over an hour drive from me and I could not (or did not) coordinate my schedule enough to make it happen. Will there ever be another opportunity like this? Likely not.
I'm happy as heck for Todd, Dave and the others and will just have to live vicariously through them!

The real problem is my wife saw Dr. Dave and now wants to leave me. I have registered a complaint with Jet Motors.

Jim, too bad you didn't have your 1964 Monte Carlo rallye picture there! you could have had Paddy autograph it again for you in person-

Just amazing Todd! Excited just to see the great pic's and hear about the wonderful time you all had with Paddy and friends. Certainly THE Lifetime experience! As of this post, looks like you have about 450 very envious lookers. Can't wait to hear about it in person at the MOASF Beach Run in a couple of weeks.

Thank you Todd for the well written write up.
I have to say I had to be the luckiest and most blessed guy that day, truly humbled and grateful.
Paddy Hopkirk was a true gentleman, so very kind and funny!

Jeremy said he was also doing all kinds of stuff on the pedals just from habit, including the "Scandinavian flick" which I need to go look up. I know the Pendulum, maybe it's different.
Check your tires... see how much was worn off by PADDY HOPKIRK!

Yeah Craig but MMW show winner JiMini - and the rest of MOASF agree: yours is the nicest. He would rather have driven yours.
Paddy really hated LHD. Shifting with the left was not for him. Jeremy said he was also doing all kinds of stuff on the pedals just from habit, including the "Scandinavian flick" which I need to go look up. I know the Pendulum, maybe it's different.
Miniestate, thanks for reminding me - this was for a Jet Motors production, more of a mini-documentary. Eric said something about taking a month or so from now for post-production.
And oh yeah - if you're still wondering if you should do a drop bracket, Paddy wanted to know why the hell I didn't have one.
