Yes, had been a pilot a few years back. I keep the same username across the car fourms and came up with this one in 1999 while in college and it stuck.
My shop is a dissaster mainly because I have been focused on my DeLorean in another shop for the past year or so, the Innocenti Mini is next, and then my Lotus Europa might come out of its deep 7 year freeze. I have been trying to find a teenager to hire for a few weekends to help sort and organize and clean up my shop. You'd be shocked that kids are no where near into cars as I would have guessed.
Back on topic: Right now is a good time in life. I know I'm going to enjoy looking back on it later in life. It'd be a cool business if you could send in your photo and have a true craftsman re-create your personal scene. It'd make Christmas shopping for my close friends easier.

DashEight, are you by any chance in the airline industry or a frequent flyer?
If it's the latter, you have my complete sympathy if a Dash Eight is your usual flight.

I really dig these kinds of models. There is an obvious romance to them. When I get to the point that my projects are completed, it’d be cool to think about doing one from the pictures of my own shop as a way of looking back on a point in my car's life and mine also. My garage is such a mess now that it would be a busy scene to recreate in miniature. This is the scene I think I'd re-recreate:

Woe Mathew!
Just admiring your photos in your profile of the Ghost Town in Bodie CA.!!! No wonder you're partial to these barn find dioramas! I almost bought a big coffee table hardbound book on GhostTowns once from an Antique Shop. Wish I would have picked it up now. Mini Estate

I always thought these custom made diorama's were pretty cool. This guy does a nice job. Here's his present Ebay listing. You can check out some of his other models on his Facebook page as well. I'll post a couple here. Enjoy. Mini Estate
