Real shame

One of the reasons I come back to the site nearly ten years since my last mini are the great folks I met here

It is always painful to lose one.

Terrific bloke, NJ was; condoleces to family and friends.  Met him at mini meets the few years that I was able to attend.  Got to drive the Hamster with the 1293, and I beleive he also drove DAEK at MME meets West near Chicago in '04. Life if is too short.  Sail and drive fast, but live slow.....

NJ's memorial gathering was full of great pictures, great memories and great comraderie among family and friends that included among them about a dozen or more Mini buddies. And as seen in the included picture from last weekend's Mitty @ Road Atlanta, Minitec's great Mini creations displayed the memorial stickers we created to remember NJ.  Thanks to BJ and the Minitec gang for remembering NJ and for their kind words. He was a customer, a fan and a friend.

Some good friends of N J traveled from far away places such as St Louis, Virginia, Pennsylvania, North & South Carolina to pay their respects. Here are some of the picture collections that were shared at his service:

We (Mini Tec) has so much respect for NJ. He was genuinely one of the most honest thoughtful helpful knowledgeable funniest (this list could go on and on....) men I have ever met. Everyone can be rest assured that he lived a great life that he enjoyed to the fullest. RIP eNJoy

Neal-

Just wondering, were they able to get a display of classic minis at N J 's funeral ? , if so he would have liked that- I know when they held Hracks' funeral in Mass, there was a large turn out of classic minis

Sad news indeed. How I met NJ was thru a post on this board if anyone was in the Atlanta area who could bring some mini side windows, that I bought on ebay, to the MME Rockford,IL . I found him in the parking lot with his imfamous lost wheel mini. Just had a brief email correspondence with him a month or so ago. RIP NJ

NJ was one my favorite characters, and I will sorely miss him at various mini gatherings.  The loss of both him and Charlie drive home the lesson to me that life is way to short, and that none of us are getting any younger, damn!  RIP, NJ.

Always ready to lend a hand and make a stressful situation calm.  One of the nicest persons you will ever meet. At a Mini event or anywhere, we were fortunate to call him our friend.

Wow. This is sad, sad news. One of the worlds few genuine "nice guys"... We'll miss you NJ.

It's been fun, but this place is done. I have no hatred, and appreciate the good times. But this place now belongs to Tony and his pink mini.

NJ
This is crushing news. NJ was soft spoken yet quick witted with a type of humor that made you think twice, sometimes more, sometimes you came back to it later. He loved the Mini community and really loved to drive. His passion for driving helped create the format of the CMU events, drive. In fact he and Howard headed a cruise at the CMU Mini 54, last October in Virginia (very fitting). With many Mini friends across North America, it's impossible to get everybody together for a celebration of NJ's life. So, Saturday the 26th, take your Mini for a drive in remembrance of one of the Mini worlds' finest. If you lose a wheel/tire you'll hear him laughing from above knowing you didn't learn anything from his wild ride. It's now folklore that it's still rolling across the country.... RIP NJ we'll all miss you!
