For everyone's viewing pleasure, here are a couple of pics of the progress on the Wagon so far. It's going slow but its going great so far.

Yes, it has what looks like someone took two halves and welded them together. I have heard that they are very good for the time, this one is kind of rough but nothing a little adjusting wont fix.

It is not easy to see in the photo - does the exhaust header appear to be stamped in two halves, with seam flanges up each side of each branch? If so it certainly is "period" - I had one way back in the 1970's and got it used. Not sure what it came off though... I got it with a set if 1-1/8" SU's complee with linkage and intake manifold.

Dan Moffett,

I took a look and they all are remote shift, same numbers as MM is looking for, and they are saying they can easily be converted to magic wand.

Awesome so it was worth saving from the trash bin? Definitely using it on the Mini then.

That looks like the Cooper 3 into 1 exhaust manifold which works well on small bore engines with either a single 1.5" or twin 1.25" carbs.

If in doubt, flat out. Colin Mc Rae MBE 1968-2007.

Got a small start to the mini stock pile...Laughing

A fellow Mini enthusiast has a very large stock pile of parts, and he stopped by to see my '62 and that when he said to stop by and look at the parts he has. He ended up giving me these items to start with. Now I have a huge project ahead of me with building a motor and trans, especially since I have never built any type of transmissions...ever. The block is a 1098(stamped on back with 1100, PO said it was probably out of an America or similiar), and there are three transmissions with random gears, two of them look like rod shift, the other looks similar with minor differences. Not sure, I want to keep the magic wand and I am hoping that one of these boxes will allow me to do that. If not I am not going to look a gift horse in the mouth, I may just end up using the rod change.

Let me know if you see anything in the pictures that is useless or what have you. Thank you.
