Depending on the age and condition of the door cards you may actually be more likely to rip the clips OUT of the card (damaging he door cards) than actually break them.  I would buy the proper tool just in case.

Our host keeps new clips in stock. always worth puting new clips in as they get h\brittle and usually break off when removing or replacing them............part number GHF1220 I belive

Mini's are like buses they come along in a bunch

Harbour freight has a cheap tool called panel clip pliers for around $10 that work well or any decent body supplier sells them. If you are careful you can use a scraper with a thin flat blade or anything similar, there are a few phillips head or pozidrive head screws holding the door pockets and window cranks on and the plastic trim piece around the door lock just pops of also.

There's a special, but common, tool for it....slips in behind the panel and around the clip.....spreading the weight so it doesn't pop the clip out of the panel.  Can't find a link to one

Does anyone know how to remove the door cards from a MK5?  From my research, it looks as if there are nine little white clips that hold them in. (can anyone confirm?)  How do you remove these clips without breaking things?
