I believe Lee Brown is still around. I know a fellow who communicates with him, I'll try to ask his about the wagon.

As for the Garner car. There are stories on the internet of its end.

From MINI2.com

When his production company decided to reduce the fleet, they put it up for sale, and some idiot lost control on a drive and ran it head-on into a high curb. It was bought by a San Diego guy, then was hacked up into parts and sold piece-meal, enen though it could have been restored. The Webasto sunroof went one way, the engine one way, the various bits went to even more places.

Some interesting pics from MOALA archive

Hey there John!

You really seem to know alot about the Stars Cars! (thanks for the Clint pix!) Have you ever seen McQueen's Mini Woody Wagon by chance??? Maybe Lee Brown might remember painting it??? It would have also been a 1967 Mini Cooper 'S', (but a Traveller not a saloon). Only (6) built by 'Cooper Car Company' in '67.                               Mini EState

Lee Brown is of Precision Auto Body, Hollywood, Calif.  He painted some of McQueen cars, including the 67 S car. Brown later bought the McQueen Mini from the classifieds in 1990.  I'm not sure who owns it now.

Huge fan of James, in particular as Jimbo. I remember lunching at the Sandcastle in Malibu, standing in the carpark you can almost see him doing donuts in the Firebird around the place.

Interestingly, Steve McQueen also bought one of the only (6) Morris Cooper 'S' Woody Travellers that were ever built by the 'Cooper Car Company'. I have all the specs on it, but I've never seen a photo with him with his Wagon. Who is Lee Brown?          Mini Estate

Interesting that his car and Steve McQueen's car both had the same paint scheme except in different colours.  DOes anyone know if they were "coachbuilt" or just Minis that someone customized with this distinct paint job?

C/D: Of the cars you’ve owned over the years, is there any one you regret selling?

JG: I wish I’d held onto my pale-blue 1966 Mini Cooper. After shooting The Great Escape in Germany, Steve McQueen and I both brought Minis home with us—they had to be among the first imported to the U.S. Steve was my next-door neighbor, and we’d race them up and down our street. I loved that little car and could do anything with it.
