Thanks. I've heard the same. Dealer suggested requirement was VIN specific. Believe I'll have them installed. Ounce of prevention.. Appreciate the quick response.

According to MINI, the steering angle stop is recommended when installing 18" MINI factory wheels.
Some with 18" factory wheels and no angle stop report they have no 'rubbing' - but the factory recommends it.

I recently acquired a set of JCW R109 double spoke 18" wheels with intentions of installing them on my 2005 MCS. Wondering if I need to install the steering angle stop retrofit kit? Will a frontend alignment also be advised? Currently running 17" spokes.
