Saw an amesome how-to on cleaning stuck in dust from old vinyl records. Anyone who does woodworking knows that titebond (and similar wood glues) won't adhere to plastic. it simply peels up w hen dried. So they guy in the video I saw simply put an old popping and hissing record on his turntable and played about 2 minutes of it so you could hear howit sounded. leavingthe turntable on, he then moved the needle and arm aside and squeezed a thin, but closely spaced spiral of glue over the entire surface. Using a card he spread it out until it was an even layer of glue over the surface (except for the outer1/8" and inner 3/4 inch. Let it dry overnight and carefully peel off. The amount of difference it made was outstanding! Sounded like crisp me vinyl!
just don't be dumb and leave the record in the sun to dry.
