Thanks to Smurf I now have one seat latch installed. Please, does anyone have a spare stashed in their junk boxes they'd like to sell?

Although the one latch keeps the seatback in place, it does allow the left side to bounce on the bumps. And we all know how annoying those tiny rattles can be when the Mini is normally so quiet and rattle free inside!

Speaking of MidOhio, years ago, I think it was at an IMSA 6hour race, someone tried to steal an expensive Nikon camera from a professional photographer's vehicle. It was announced over the PA system that it was stolen and a bunch of people came forward who saw a guy messing around the car. Security got enough info and caught him. That's the only time I've heard of theft problem there. I have heard of drunks falling into campfires and tents, and nasty rumors that they were members of COMO, but don't know if that was verified.

No problem.Just caught me off guard a bit. I would never say a bad thing about a guy who has been a friend for 20 plus years. Especially a top notch guy like yourself.

Cup cake I will say I have attended Mid Ohio since the early 80 s and I don't think I ever worried about my cars or the things in them. I did find a guy half way in my wagon once.It turned out he was looking at the page 2 girl in the english newspaper I had in the back seat....no harm no foul.

Humour aside, there are dirt-bags every where so its not out of the question for items to be stolen even at Mini Meets. At the Velejo Mini Meet West in 1997 somebody absconded with one of my grill whiskers. Recently, I had the odometer reset button on my motorcycle stolen.

Hal, if I was a thief I would've had them, your wagon was left unattended many times over that weekend. At least seeing your car I knew what I was looking for.

I have found one, still need that second one if anyone's got an extra around they want to sell.

Bill ,I was joking hence the LOL.......

slot head for sure - poss cheese or pan head.

Are they the ones that look like something you'd buy at Home Depot to fit to the back of your toilet door??

Anyone have a photo??

Cheers, Ian

Try Min e bitz. I think its Nickinshefield. In the past he has had equal unobtainable rear window latches.

The part number is 14B3500.  Mini Mania and several other sources I checked do not list that number.  Also try //minitravellerandcountrymanregister.org/ and //www.clubmanestates.co.uk/

Edit: Correct number is 14A7207 for the seat back latches on the front and toward the top of the seat back (as in the photo in the later post).  14B3500 is for the seat back to floor hinges. I had hinges on the mind having just repaired one in which the two upper screws pulled out of the seat back.

Does anyone know a source for the rear seatback latches for an Austin Countryman? I couldn't find them in the MiniMania parts, though I may not have been using the correct term in the search. New or used.
