Yah I miss that truck too Kevin... but you know what they say, we don't own them, we just rent them.

It went to a good home to a nice fellow in Picton Australia.  I spoke with him last week, he just got it back from converting it to RHD.

Kevin

Actually your 1430cc yellow Moke and your Green UK Moke went to a new home in Kenya-

And yes, your yellow 1963 mini pick up along with my 1980 yellow mini pick up went to a buyer in Picton AUSTRALIA

So l can tell you 2 of the nicest mokes and 2 of the best Mini pick ups have left N/A

When will this end ??????

Hey Pete,

I think about yhou every now and then. Still living in England?

I still remember you shipping me the Aussie Moke with payment to be made after delivery! It was a good Moke and I believe it went to Italy eventually.

cheers,

Kevin

It was actually it was 2002.. I have a picture of me, with that van, and a red 997 cooper in my back yard, with me in a tux, for my sister's wedding.. would have been around June 8th 2002 that they were here in Buffalo NY..

Wow, some old names here

Came on here to mention I saw a mini that had me shaking today. A Monte Carlo rally veteran. The most equipment in a mini I have ever seen, then I see this post. Brings back memories

Scarily I can't remember this van. I imported a bunch from Aussie though

Hope everyone is well

Sorry about the divorce Kevin. You had some serious machines back then

Peter

My boy Adam (some of you may remember my tag along kid at the various Mini Meet Easts) is now a Land Rover Defender owner and mechanic (has his own business called Diesel Rover).

Guess what he is pushing to build for me??? A nice Defender 90. Not sure about that, may keep my jeeps instead.  :

While not required I'll say perfect is a interesting word and oft miss used. Believe me this guys work is pictured in the dictionary by the word.

Bad joke: Why is divorce so expensive? Cause it's worth it.

Wish this visit was about you moving in not further out. Good luck with what ever you do from here. I know you will do it with a passion that will show. Steve (CTR)

Darren/Kevin-

That must have been 10 years ago, how time flies-

This particular blue steel sided van came from NZ, Peter Mustang imported it , it came in a container with no US custom clearance,l hauled it from Florida to BuffaloNY and yes , dropped it off at Darren's' foe 2-3 days until l could figure out how to get it into canada with no customs paperwork on hand- At that time, the US customs had just instigated that crazy 3 day hold on anything leaving the USA, we'll l get it to Lewiston and have to leave it at a Topps Super Market lot for 3 days while they cLeared it, I then clear US cUstoms and when lget to Canada Customs, they hold it because they can't figure out howitzer got from NZ to Miami with no customs documents, after 4 hours of haggling, and them looking at thisNZ title that looked like a large insurance policy , they finally released the mini van! I was so pissed by then that l said to my buddy , the late , Captin JJ, l am heading for Ottawa and dump this POS!!

We get Stittsville(Ottawa) around a 2:AM,can't find Kevin's shop, no GPS then! drive around for an hour and then find it and drop the van in his parking lot and Drove back home, getting back at 10:00 AM

Boy, l miss those good times

Adam,

No trace of rat at this time.

Yep, NZ blue van, good nick, but perfect now. Dry indoor storage for all these years.

Getting some action on both the engine and the shell.

Cheers,

Kevin

Darren! How's your car coming?

( Seems like homecoming week or something... who else is going to turn up?)
