Just put a hat on it Dean and you won't need instructions.

I did drill the holes first. The tinyest pressure from the drill broke the plastic. I would do it differently if I was doing it today no doubt. There was no way to tell that it would react that way until I touch the drill to it.

I got an instruction plate from a bloke in New Zealand. I hope it wasn't the same supplier.

But, the plastic plate is going to be brittle. What were you thinking by forcing self tapping screws through it? You should have drilled the holes to the correct size first.

Its hard to tell the inferior products and the sellers are not forth coming for obvious reasons. I bought a rear view mirror suction cup on Ebay UK. Its too flimsy to stick. When I complained the seller said he had been selling them for years and never had a problem ... right. The distance makes a challenge futile. I did keep the old one and it didn't cost an arm and a leg like your plate.

I wish I hadn't bought this plate. Beware. Its a brittle hard white plastic that is printed with black ink of some sort that scratches off with the tinyest pressure. Junk.

Once again Dean...you are over the top.  However, If you find a good, cost effective repro for the plate count me in.  My Churchill unit still does not suck correctly (no pun intended), but I use it it every few months for a slow bag leak on RHS.  If I ever get around to rebuilding the unit I would like the official name plate as well. So, OT, when you beat my AutoX time for 2nd with MY car at MMW last year in Bend, OR.  I was running 325# pressure on LHS and 340# RHS with -1.5 degree camber in the fronts.  Not sure where it was after  the 700 mile trip.  New set up now and still playing with the right pressure/height. The pressure gauges on my unit may be as accuret as the 'Rolex' watch I bought in China so I'm back to the "three finger/four finger gauge until I can rebuild the factory Churchill unit.

Mousy, what did you pay for the repro plate?

I am looking into doing a set. They will be made of thin sheet black aluminum laser etched with the instructions.

I can even have the personalize serial number added to each plate.

Any takers?

Were you able to save (or recreate) the instruction plate on the top?

Done and almost done.

Testing on a mini instead of a tire will show wheather the low loss valve will pump and not leak.

If anyone is wondering how much oil to put in the top of the vaccum side.

Well let me tell you.

Put in as much as you want.

What isn't supposed to be in there will shoot out the top and splat all over the ceiling of your garage.

As others have said they are the correct fittings.

The vacuum pump gets a little oil through the holes in the top of the pump to lubricate the seal to make it seal. It is supposed to be vaccum oil, I just used a little engine oil.

There are plugs for both ends. However I can't get either one to stay in the ends.

The fill ends I've seen so far have an outer ring that screws on to the valve.

The T handle on the hose section of the fill end has a ball inside. Should there be a spring inside to hold pressure against the ball?

What and where do I lube the vaccum pump?
