Consider going to Speedhut Tach & GPS speedo...they are a dead on direct fit and faces can replicate your existing gauge font and they have great back lights for night time driving.  Only a 1" or so thick too, so easy fit...unless you are keen on originality.

Check Castle rails, should be drain holes, feel around inside with stiff wire for loose rust from central web - the combination lower side rails are important structural members.  If good - loose crap blown out - Waxoyl them, inside door bottoms and rear arches to body in boot too..

So....tyres that have been sitting with a car's weight on them for nine years develop a flat spot ;-)

Bought new tyres a couple of days ago....although the ones on the car may have had less than 100km on them...they're done.

Really enjoying driving this "big" car.  Needs new shocks and the tach isn't working...that's about it for major issues.

Dad's '68 GT has the electric OD as well... really nice touch!  The thing loves to settle down at around 80mph and cruise along all day... love it!  I wish my Mini had it too!

Trailered home today.

Clean gas....fired right up.  Turns out it has OD in 3rd and 4th.  PO did not know this :-)

Brakes work ( need adjusting ) , clutch works......after nine years sitting in a garage.

It has a horrible front end shake / shimmy at 40+ mph though...scaary

If it still has the dual 6 volts, it is an economical swp to put in a single 12 volt. There are 12 volts that fit in the hole quite nicely, I generallly found what I need at Wally World

Picking up this weekend.  The car has not been started since 2005...batteries were left in it ( roll eyes ) so will have to deal with a mess there.  Thankfully the car has been out of the elements since.

Check the oil in the shocks before you go replacing them! they can be refilled through a small plug. also while your about it moss motors sell an uprated valve for the shock, change over to those. If the front lower arms still have the Std. top hat bushes change them to the V8 type a great improvement over the stock bushes............

Mini's are like buses they come along in a bunch

Will keep that in mind Scott..... anxious to get it up on a hoist next week and see if that, or anything else is missing.  I know the exhaust is kaput

Unfortunately it does feel like it will need shocks...front's at least ($$)

"Biscuit" is the colour I believe

Beautiful car! I had an MGB Roadster for a while before I went back to Mini's, they are a great car, as long as you stay away from the '75 which didn't come with sway bars and handled more like a Cadillac. If you need a front sway bar let me know, I have one just sitting around the house.

It was built LHD for NA export.  They purchased it with intention of exporting to CA.  Apparently that was something you could do....they did ( original owner )

so it was converted to left hand drive? uk registrant would have been right correct? i would really doubt it has a biscuit interior, leyland never made this as a factory color, only aftermarket. more likely it is autumn leaf. send some pictures of the inside.

Thanks....
I'll check the build date when I pick it up Sunday.
Just went through a bunch of receipts with the car... $3600 sill replace and paint job in 1999...then barely driven.  A number of other repairs also...like new brake master, alt wheel cyl.  all of which have been sitting idle....so may need kits.

edit.. think you're right about the Harvest Gold....maybe Antelope.  I just found out "Biscuit" is an interior colour.

Lovely! I would hazard a guess that you have a "Harvest Gold" example there!
