I don't know for sure where it was originally sold, but the paperwork I got with the car shows it was in England a couple years ago before it was brought here. It doesn't really matter what the sticker says but I just like to know as much about my cars as possible. Knowledge is power.

hmm, you're right, I tried searching under those numbers a variety of ways and wasn't able to find anything.

The "E11" in a circle is definitely a regulation mark, for some market, possibly European, just don't know which. Maybe if you can find out through a Heritage search (contact BMH with your VIN number) they can tell you this car's original destination when it was made, and that might provide a clue.

In any case, to reproduce the sticker you don't need to know what it says, only need a good photo like you've got, and a printer and some care matching the color palette.

good luck, Norm

Thanks for the info. I checked out that website, but I couldn't find anything that matched those numbers. I want to keep the car stock if possible, and the small details like the factory stickers are part of the cars history, and it would be nice to know what the different codes mean. I am surprised that nobody else has already researched this.

"Can you recommend any websites to look at?"

Here is a good place to start:

//www.unece.org/trans/main/welcwp29.html

Start searching under automotive regulations, and then "flammability", "restraint", "seat belt", and things like that. Sometimes the number on an object will be a reference to an item inside one of the larger regulations, so it may take some investigation to get to what you are looking for.

But, I would not bother. It isn't like it is a historical thing, or even much related to UK or US vehicle use. The label was put on by the factory, and I suspect the label was added in order to sell these cars in other markets, like Germany or what have you, regardless of whether this one car ever went there when it was sold.

Unless your local transport authority has a requirement for this type of sticker I would not worry about replacing it. After all, its a sticker so could have been put there at any time and not even be relevent to the belts currently fitted. Often there is a white tag stitched onto the end of the belt webbing with similar markings.

I tried looking it up on Google, but couldn't find anything. Can you recommend any websites to look at?

it is a maker's certification label for EU regulations for that part

The numbers are EU safety requirements (you can google the numbers to read up on each one, if you like). It is required to include those markings on regulated parts (inner mirror, seat belt, etc.), but when the part can not easily be marked, they use a sticker as an extra cost way to meet the regulation, when they have to.

Take some good, clear photos and then have a custom label shop make you new ones. Use a heat gun to carefully remove the original for color match sample, if you like.

Does anybody know how what the information means or how to decode it? Is there a reproduction of this sticker available? I will need to remove it to paint the car.

Does anybody know what this sticker is? It is in the door jamb of my 1977 mini clubman. Does it mean anything? Can you buy a new replacement sticker?
