Sometimes due diligence doesn't quite work out. I bought a 2005 mini a couple months ago after getting a pre-purchase inspection. The major stuff checked out and I bought this sweet convertible, r52. I got the mechnic to fix all of the other things he identified to the tune of $2,000 and went on my way. When I continued to hear a noise I couldn't identify, I took it back to the mechanic. After he performs another inspection he tells me that the transmission is going. All of this occurs after I've put a grand total of 80 miles on the car. Now I'm stuck. Between the mechanic who sold me the car and the mechanic who performed the inspection, I'm very leary of shops and really concerned with getting a trust worthy mechanic to do the work. Does anyone have any recommendations for who I could get to do the work, it would be really appreciated. I'm on the Stone Mountain, Lilburn line in Georgia.
