Thanks!

I have a set of Mini specific speaker boxes i am willing to sell that fit under the front parcel shelf next to the door openings, looks like a 5 inch speaker fits in them similar in size to jedduh's picture but facing the driver and passenger.

I've been running these bad boys for a couple of years. They put out plenty of sound. It shoots straight up out of the bin and to my ears. I can't justify any more effort to get decent tunes in the mini.

Since the car is so easy to hide wiring in, I'd second the vote for some small tweet or high mid range speakers in the front area. You could angle them to reflect sound and accompany the mid to low sound from the lower rears. When I was young my dad wired a stereo in our mini and put small self enclosed speakers in the door bins and in the rear side storage. They sat so low in there you couldn't see them but the sound bounced out and was OK. My friends have a Bose bluetooth speaker in their house. I often wondered if it would do the trick sitting on the dash. No wires at all.

Youll probably get alot of replies- " just listen to the motor"

But i feel ya.

Front channel can easily be accomplished with a nice tight 3.5 Speaker- and a home made box, Hang it under the shelf- Just thick enough for the speaker. Home Made YES

Speakers need enclosures to project- so are your rears under the rear seat boxed off well enough? solid front panel for them to be bolted into.

Later minis win with the speakers in the rear shelf- but if yours are uncut - leave it no cutting .  another optoin is a sealed speaker enclosure either in the rear companion boxes- Or make a board for the speakers to mount to.

I added an amplifier to drive rear floor speakers + a pair of front speakers and they really drive home the tunes.
