Thanks Jerry for the info, I'd rather learn and save money from someone else's mistake that have to make that mistake and learn ($) on my own.

Plus robster has enough on his plate without having difficulties with a product that has inherent problems.

Disregard the info I supplied robster.

Well the good news is that Eastwood sent him their removal kit, and some scrapers for free. But that did not replace his labor or the fact that his car was not ready for a show.

Good to know. If there's a place to write a review, have your friend write one. I do read what others feel about a product.

Thanks

For sound deadening, do the inside roof and under the bonnet first. Then the floor. And for Minis, a good rule is to never glue anything to the floor unless you are never going to wash the car or have it out in the rain.

For a low cost solution, look at your hardware store for "Peel and Seal" flashing tape. I did 2 layers in my crewcab diesel and it did quite a nice job on both the noise and the heat. Can be a bit messy, but not too bad.

I did the Dynamat and the Newton Commercial carpet underlayment route to quiet things down but you'll find that a mini isn't loud compared to say a jackhammer but it is compared to the cheapest Toyota. I drive with the window down quite a bit and have just gotten used to it. When I drive my 12 year old Saab I feel like I'm in a Rolls. Your alternative is a set of these Smile

If you want to read up and understand the details behind noise elimination here's a good site:

They also have pre-cut versions in the Catalog under Morris Cooper that will show ya some pic's.  Nice kit but $$$$.

We've used dynamat on cars at work for years. On my own cars I like LizardSkin spray on coatings. There is one for sound deadening , another for thermal protection which can drop the temperature inside your car as much as 30 degrees. Both can be used together.

They sell a kit with gun and coatings, cleans up nicely too.               //www.lizardskin.com/

Looking's free......Dynamat for the novice is easy to use though.
