Personally - I would say NOPE!
Just a quick Google of "easy care warrantys- has a site" with 4 main plans.
//www.easycare.com/extended-warranties/compare-warranty-plans/
In my honest opinion- you have to have a catastrophic failure for the coverage to really help... So Pay the piper now, montly warranty or big cost up front -- or play the game and"what if's " game of any vehicle and just drive it and use it. . 24K Miles is NOTHING on a car... By BMW standards thats only! 2 Oil changes. (15K Intervals) Your car is barely broken in.
Warranties dont cover Tires + brakes + Oils = Consumables- so your still paying to service that item. Plus your car payment, plus insurance , plus. Whoo Wee! I love classic Cars!

I'm really surprised the other posters have missed one of the most important bits of information you gave. "Single gal"...perhaps a forum member nearby can help with the purchase by having a look at the car. :-)

Extended Warranties are difficult to decipher - you need to read the fine print very carefully to see what is covered, and what isn't.
As Dan mentioned - you are buying 'repair insurance'. You need to decide based on your 'comfort' level.
Keep in mind, the extended warranties are offered because the providers make money....

I'd also like to ask if you're the type who keeps a car for 10 years or if you could see yourself trading it in in only 2 or 3 more years. A 2011 model isn't exactly 'new' anymore, and it just might not be worth the extra coverage if you're not going to hang on to it 'forever'.

When auto-union says "The factory warranty will be underwritten by an outside provider too.", the implication is that you are buying repair insurance. Both programs are "bets" by insurers on how many times your car is statistically likely to need repair and how much it will cost.
So, it you think of it as insurance (like life, health, liability insurance etc.) you just need to do your homework on how much it costs aagainst how much it will cover. The 'cheaper' may be exactly that - it may not cover all repair costs and you may have to share the expense (kind of like co-pay).

Tell the dealer you want to compare both of them regardless of what he thinks is too expensive to even quote. An informed decision is better than being sold a product that may or may not be worth buying. Cheaper is not always better. I hate to say it, but car salesmen are like mechanics, and other service individuals, and will take advantage ($$$) of women every chance they get.

There's profit in both the aftermarket and factory warranty (I'm a dealer ...). Check the Easy Care conditions and offerings and same for the manufacturer's, compare them both for the cover and dollars. The factory warranty will be underwritten by an outside provider too. Extended warranty is always a good thing these days, repairs can get out of control easily.

Hi y'all - I'm a single gal and own a 2011 S type with 24,700 miles. The warranty clock is ticking. I don't even check oil myself. I've left everything to the dealer. They say I will save a bundle if I purchase a warranty before I get to 25k miles. They offer the Easy Care and a manufacturers warranty. Dealer said the manufacturers is too expensive to even quote. What should I do?
That's dealer-speak for "we make a boatload more money on the Easy Care..."
Oh, and check your oil. It's really not that difficult. It'll be kinda like early warning radar.
