Nice 100/4 Austin Healey!!! My personal favorite sports car in the world. An original gutted body shell for one of these can go for upwards of $45K!      Mini Estate

well i was there when that motorcycle engine mini pulled up, it was LOUD!!! , i like the Mini with a toyota engine, back wheel drive. ,it has a custom made shifter ,made especially for person with disability., the owner were unable to step on the clutch pedal due to some medical issues, the clutch is now incorporated with the shifter, pretty much same as when you are shifting on a motorcycle..

i personally like the green mini, and the off white 59 mini. i was salivating, shet!

the rest of the other minis on display were pretty much covered with bondo...i mean you can tell by the light reflection., they are nice but, we all  want the real macoy right?!

i used to want to buy the recaro seats for mini, but when i saw it in person, eww, too overkill.,

minis with too much stickers sucks, not nice, looks poor.

wooden steering wheel on minis always a plus.( i said steering wheel, not masking tape looking thing around the window seal)

the crowds favorite

Jamal, Each year there is something exciting to talk about in Auburn.  I think we have our topic for tomorrow's get together.  I'll see ya tomorrow with Airfair (not sure if Air2Air can make it!) and some of the gang from MOASF.

Let the fun begin.  Sorry gang, this post could be a bit OT maybe.  J

edit...but then again, looks like about 70%+ of this thread is really OT

Maybe we can ask him if he makes it to Auburn tomorrow!  Just the use of words like affinity, afar, even dizzy, seems out of place given the (intentionally?) bad grammar!

Then there was this that nobody commented on:

"...  any input??, tomorrow is saturday, im gonna have sex with my mini again in the garage., im gonna clean the four brake pistons...."

San Diego?  I know someone who went to that show!  Maybe we can shed some light on Rooster!   I've been very suspicious since he posted this early in this topic:

"and  red cars has a very strong affinity to police ,they always get ticketed"

When "affinity" was spelled correctly, yet much easier words were buggered, the 'stinkometer' went off!   (for those of you that listen to Tom Sulivan!)

I give you credit for the affinity catch, but then notice how it is incorrectly used grammatically.  It should be "police have an affinity for red cars" or some such.   Affinity is the possessive of "police".

But then the singular "red cars has a..."  looks too deliberate, and this sets off my stinkometer too.

I agree with Zippy and my money is on Spank.  However if I was behind this I would not worry about the bad grammar, I would keep pushing on the patronizing lectures and ignoring advice.  It is a classic already however.

Here is another suspect string:

1) is your dizzy point or electronic?

2) is your engine stock or Vtec?

3) 1275 or 1300?

4) do you have cruise control on your mini?

5)weber carb or stock carb?

6) 10 or 13 inch wheel?

7) gas or LPG?

Those struck me as just too incongruous and deliberate.  LPG?  If you knew about each of the things in these questions, you would know that they don't work together; i.e. a 1275 Vtec with a Weber and points.

The "masking tape" comment is one I would make if I was behind this.

Here's another that looks too deliberate, too good to be true:

...my commons sense dictates me that it must be the release bearing al rusted out inside., but first before i buy anything, i just wanna try some redneck solution first.  i wanna squirt some wd40 or sprayable oil thingie on the bearings, and see if it will improve.

I was at the show, and my name is Robb, but I am not robster.  I don't think I met robster either, nor do I know who he is.

The 'masking tape' woody was my favorite Mini there, but there were many other nice ones of various ages including a nice red Innocenti, and a 59 with original interior.

Curious robster, what did you think of the mini with the motorcycle engine in the trunk, or the mini with a Toyota engine that was also rear wheel drive?

You gotta admit, the tire iron holding down the brake pedal is one great idea.  That will save me many annoyed looks asking the wife to pump the pedal.

robster, look closely at miniestate's avatar and you will see what a mini estate is (it is what we 'muricans call a "station wagon")

Hope I'm not too late! A couple of well placed original STP stickers would be the perfect solution for Rooster's Mini woes, (an additional 7hp+ gain per sticker, plus brake springs become optional) Hope this helps!                                                             Mini Estate

P.S. Airfair, I'm assuming your STP stickers are on the boot, as none are showing up in the side shots?

Your arithmetic is almost as good as your Mini knowledge. I was born 31st December 1943....so I'm 71 on last day of this year.

I've just come to realise that after 52 years of owning, and working on Minis.....Rooster has me confused.  Maybe it's time I called it a day and admitted I've got galloping Dementia? Or so it seems. Now where did I leave my Valium?

Yes. Good point, Malsal. That's the whole point of the thin offset section is so that it clears the hub.
