Very nice car....but wow, that's a lot of money for it.

More pictures would be nice ( feel free to include the car in pics if needed )

nkerr,

Jemal, by the topic of his thread asks or suggests that this is "the nicest Australian MK2 Cooper S on the planet". The way I look at it, that's asking for people to comment on his assertion; and two posters from OZ who are knowledgeable about the cars, simply pointed out why that may or may not be true.  I don't see anything wrong with their feedback.

I also think it's a very nice car, but if I was in the market for an OZ Cooper S and was willing to pay $38k, I wouldn't consider an incorrect color a "little detail"

if i ever get to see and inspect that red car, i'm gonna have to bring my ole reliable Magnet, if it sticks hard, its genuine... if it doesn't ,then the body is full of bondo fillers... he may need to lower the price to $5k

Steering wheel is not original either and I have never seen one that colour before ,as an original colour scheme , BUT, a very nice car.

Extremely nice ..but one should be very careful when throwing out claims such a "nicest' or "most original"...  when there are any number of glaring errors apparent.

It always amazes me that people should put in so much effort and not do the most basic research (Oz Ss did not have white wheels or reclining seats....)

I have to disclose that I don't hold much reverence for so called original cars.  A few years ago the Vic Mini Club had a line up of at least ten cars that would rival this one in finish while being more "original"... Talk about boring...

The intersting cars were those displaying some degree of maturity and character...

Cheers, Ian

I've spoken with this gentleman a couple of times and encouraged him to list his car for sale on our site:

//www.minimania.com/cars4sale/12512/1969_Morris_Cooper_S_Sedan_1275cc

I remember a topic a while back with a discussion about the viability of doing proper restorations for a living.  This is certainly one of those examples that screams "NO"!   I think my comment at the time was something like "only if you don't pay yourself for labor"!!   In this case, the owner DID do much of the work, but still, I DARE anyone to duplicate this car for the asking price!

This is going to be a fantastic car for someone, with it's value going higher every single day that goes by.  I think it would fetch record money at the right auction!  Better hurry before the owner changes his mind!   (No, I do NOT have a vested interest!)
