Seriously though, I'm very confident that the Military Moke pictured is a Twini, (engine front and rear). They built one with two 1100cc engines for the USA Military to try out. It didn't fly because of ground clearance, (actually they did fly when the Navy got ahold of them and started parachuting them from helicopters). Still, the ground clearance issue.                   Mini Estate

I"m reminded of the joke of the guy in a bar recanting the story of finding the genie's lamp and wishing for but ending up

with a 10" prick.  Jeanie was a bit hard of hearing.  I can almost see this kid saying this stuff.

Amazing how we're all takin in with this, eh? maybe just our new mascot.

The guy with the bazooka says he'll get you pointed in the right direction. He just needs to find you. He just wants to talk. Honest.                 Mini Estate

Like understand how uncomfortable it was to sit in a restaurant with wet pants all evening???  Or have your girlfriend refuse to be picked up in your car for a night out....

But that was in the days when we could only afford one car... and it was on duty every day ..in all weather.

Nothing could beat it on a run to the beach on a warm spring day..summer was as much of a pain as the middle of winter...

Fun toy...otherwise...

1.) The folks paying that kind of money don't care. They have "people" to make sure the vehicle is ready to go.

2.) Farm vehicle???? I'm not sure what use you might get from a Moke on a farm. Unless you enjoy getting stuck in the mud.......

rock lobster..  I sold 25 plus mokes in last three years for $25k  EACH. Most of these buyer had their own  G 4 gulfstreams..   and  $38 k is NOT really that over the top 1 % moke  buyers now..it is   called supply and demand. and we moke guys know what  a small supply of nice .rust mokes they  are now... on planet earth..

The first time my mother saw a moke (the one Kevin in Ottawa bought) she absolutely loved it

1275 in a moke is like a corvette. Loved the jokes I had.

I like the Moke. And I've been in many "niche" maret vehicles. Jeeps are a good similar example. They are beloved by their owners, but outsiders don't really get it. Own one and you'll understand how much fun it is to run around with the top off, no doors, and a short bouncy wheelbase.

All I'm saying is that I would rather have something else for $38k. If it was a rare early Cooper S or something absolutely iconic? Maybe I'd be in. But to me a Moke is akin to a fun kit car. It's fun, but not Viper fun.

$38,000 is probably a bit over the top. God bless him if he gets it.
I've seen several Mokes go for close to $30,000 at fancy auctions. (The ones that rich guys go to swing their junk around and see who's got the biggest.)
Within the hobby, that Moke probably wouldn't bring $20,000. But, there again, we're all a bunch of cheap bastages.
