In my case, an Austin Mini Countryman was shipped to a NY dealer in late July 1961 with a Heater and Whitewall tires...I know who bought it used in western NY and the subsequent owners - Chas. P., Thomas US Army NCO, Mike K., Kent S., Chris H....but can not get back in time to the earliest years.
It went from a running Mini to parts car, to storage, to a start on restoration, to storage again, to my aquisition and assembly of parts for the restoration we will do.
Pure luck that there were any papers going back to Ohio but we have Mike. K. to thank for that.
Along the way we canabalized a 1962 Morris Woody to get better steel bits (don't panic, the Morris was rotted away from part way up the tow board, through the floors, sills, door steps, lower doors, bottom of the crossmember and tunnel all the way to the heel board and rear floor.)

Better yet... post a picture of the car!
That might jog people's memory, and as a bonus we get to check out your car!

I'm pretty sure someone on the forum may know or know of the previous owner, if you feel like sharing their name.
Just a thought.

There was a movement to create a NA Mini Register a few (many) years ago that fizzled out. With all the reVINs in the USA it would have been a boondoggle.

A couple of years ago I bought a 1964 Austin Mini Cooper S that had been restored. Not by the seller but by the previous owner. I want to contact the previous owner who did the restoration to get details as to what was done to the engine internals if any. Is there a Mini registry for the US/North America?
BTW, I googled that previous owner in the Las Vegas area and found no matches. The car came with period correct California plates.
Thanks in advance for your help.
