Chris' attachment (hidden) for the cable/handle shaft is much improved over the stock one, and the overall construction is bullet proof.  Just wish there were a source for the early cheapo smooth sliding rubber grabs, but there probably isn't a large enough market.

The cable I use is a different size so will not work with the existing parts. It is still cosmetically accurate and will not break as the original size cable as used by the factory. The original cables are very weak and this is why they had such a short life. Chris Miller

Without the ends? Not sure why you'd want to do that, but contact Chris Miller. I'm sure he could supply it.

I am the guy who makes the cables. Simple fitting. The aluminum bracket simply slides over the door handle and the front end attaches with a #10 screw and nut through a preexisting hole in the front of the door. If our host does not have them at present I can supply direct. Contact info in profile. Chris Miller

Perhaps this will help. Green arrow pointing at screw at bottom of pic. Pic was intended to show remnants of wetherstripping on the front of the door which I understand was discontinued asfter May 1960.

2nd pic is showing smooth door pull with forward attach point off to the right.

I'm in the same boat - have levers, want cables.  A friend told me he had a passenger that would grab on to the cable on tight corners though!

It attaches to the small horizontal lip near the front edge of the door, you should see a small hole from where it was  previously installed.

Machine screw. The lever dosen't give much torque and they're prone to breaking. With the window open its safer to use the outside handle to open the door from the inside.

I have a MK1 Morris 850. It presently has interior door levers on it. I would like to install Door Pull Cables, Part No: 14A6889. As I see from the catalog photo, one end with the metal block fits over the square shaft of the door handle that goes through into the lock. I cannot see what the other end looks like and where that would connect too in the inside front part of the door. I looked inside my doors but can't really see anything that that end of the cable would affix too. Can someone let me know where it is attached to in the door and how (with what hardware - metal screw, nut & bolt etc.) Thanks
