Mous, if you and Jeg are actually leaving because of robster that just makes no sense to me at all.  That would be surrendering for little to no reason.

It would be a big loss to me at least, your help and Jeg's have been invaluable just like Jemal's.

cupcake, sorry i dont mean to be annoying to you, im a nice person if not being attacked, i just dont want the idea that mytymouse is telling everybody, that i am the reason why jeg is quiting the forum or laying low.  that's not true.

As to how much to 'moderate', another word is CENSOR and we all know how that works, even with the best of intentions!.... It comes down to, are we (mostly) adults or what?  Anyone that has contacted ME directly has received a response... Sorry Mtymouse, I got nothing!  Part of the "internet thing" is that all of us HAVE to have thicker skin!  The WORST thing is that a feeling of anonymity makes people feel like they can spout off anything they want with no repercussions.  I've used the example of road-rage before.  We feel smug and secure in our cars and many are ready to get out and KILL that inconsiderate driver that cut us off, until we realize it's our Mom!  Note that I use my real name and email on here, and favor more transparency than most, but we certainly can't force EVERYONE to do that!

In the past I stepped in and removed a post about someone who had a medical emergency at the request of the immediate family.  I was absolutely shocked at the response from MANY of you that accused me of all sorts of absurd intentions. So you see, there is simply no answer that everyone is going to like all of the time!

And about "Trolls".... Funny that his posts are being read and commented on more than any others in the last week or two!  I find him very tongue-in-cheek, whether trying to be funny or not, and if it was the "engrish" comment that resulted in the racist remark, I just can't take that seriously! The guy also posted that he was going to have sex with his Mini AGAIN in the garage!  erhaps it's kind of like a train wreck... we just have to look!

Mtymouse, PLEASE tell us about your restoration!  Just because cupcake won't like something is not a good reason to deprive us of your ingenuity!!!  "Attacks" are mostly from people who don't have the option to do what you can with YOUR PERSONAL PROPERTY!  When people HATE my TREK mountain bike wild green Mini, I suggest they paint their own car a color THEY like!!

Robster. For a new member, who seems to need at lot of help (maybe in more ways than one), you are very annoying. Do you take lessons on being annoying or does it come naturally? Also, you should fill out your profile so we know how to get in touch you and or avoid you as need be.

Jeg before you go let me thank you again for your excellent help that saved me time and money.  I have nasty stuff going on in real life too, your help makes it better.

Sorry to hear you are leaving Jeg judging by your words it is more that R here on the forum that is getting to you. Best wishes and hoping everything works out alright for you and like Steve let me know how the fixed needle conversion works out for you.

Sure, I must have missed something here. When I got tired of the attacks here I left for 5 1/2 years. Did not post once during that period and my life was fine. I have been back awhile and nothing has changed. The names maybe but that's all. Maybe this internet thing is just a flash in the pan and will go away. There is little here once again. I did not say I was leaving the last time and don't plan a warning next time. 

As for personal problems, we have all had our share. I spent a year helping my brother though his last year battling cancer. I still care for my 91 year old stroke victim father daily. Have a high school freshman son at band practice till 9 three nights a week. It will all be OK, shot me an e mail if you want to tell me how fixed needle worked out. I use both but don't see how it's a big performance lift. Steve (CTR)

Well it's sad to see you go, but I can understand the sentiment. I've had my share of it in the past with some older members that thought I was just some fool. And Hopefully I've mended those relationships where they mattered and have proven to know what I'm talking about. But being called a racist after legitimately trying to help someone who I'm pretty sure is a pure troll anyway is obnoxious.

The sad part is that I've emailed moderators and others in charge and I've received no response. Maybe it's some sort of elaborate ploy to get the pot stirred up before most go into winter hibernation. Either way, I would be upset as a site owner or moderator that this troll is allowed to do it. I'm pissed that they allow him to call people racist and spread hate like that.

But while I hate to see you leave, I doubt i'm far behind you. I don't post anything about my restoration on here. I've been doing a ground up resto for over a year now and it's almost ready to roll by itself and yet I don't find this forum a relevant place to even post a tiny bit about it. Even the new innovative stuff I'm doing that could benefit the community as a whole usually gets shot down here (as legitimate as it may be). They allow cancer to run rampant and then wonder why thee whole body isn't healthy and they've lost body parts.

Maybe because I've got such 'real life' problems I thought that my spending time on here would help to relieve the strain of my dismal reality. 

Of course, I failed.  So, I'm gone.  Probably for good too, my prospects are bleek and future is dimmer than you can imagine.  Yes, it's worse than that.  I'll post once in a rare while to follow up on threads that might be interesting to some, such as the fixed needle conversion.  Had I had the chance to get to the garage, I would have the carb installed, but haven't had a chance yet. 

Some have my E-mail, if anyone needs anything, ask someone who knows it.  I'll still have the mini for as long as I can, then I'll probably have it shipped to my brother in the States.
