So the sellers just on this site with a woody are asking, for the cheapest, $18k, yes it's all done up. A project Clubman wagon is going for $4500, no offence to the Clubman crowd but really? It's just my opinion but I think a "project" Countryman woody is worth a lot more than 5k which is good or bad for everyone because in general our regular cars are worth more.

15K better get you a nice runner in nice shape.....sub 5K for a project sorry to say

Except it's a Countryman. Find me that sub 5k project Countryman I don't think it exists. Look at what a standard 67 mini goes for. There are currently 5 or 6 "wagons" on this site all above 14K.

Money from sale would go towards upgrades to my 78 Austin.

I think $12 to 15K just looking at what all of the others go for. What you need is Cup Cake's Gilgrease factor it could net you +30%. Where are you? I could be interested, I don't have enough pain and suffering with my current mini.

I still have my '61 Countryman that I bought in 1971. When I got it, it was schoolbus yellow with no wood and a lot of rust. I found used wood at the time and have been through many rebuilds fixing more and more rust over the years. I just don't see how I could part with it. When I go to the grocery store it take me 15 minutes to get into the store. I don't get that many smiles per gallon in any of my mini sedans. So you can imagine my recommendation. Write if you need a motor.

Of all the minis I've owned I wish I had kept the countryman the most

And I've owned dozens of minis.

Selling the countryman and keeping the 78 is borderline insane :-)

Keep the much more sought after and valuable one

Sounds like you already know you'd regret selling it.

Once gone you may never have the chance to buy it back.

Your car and money, think hard on this one.

Had a chance to buy a nice one when I was young, like a young dumb kid I didn't see the long term value (collector value and practicality) and thought of it as an old persons station wagon.

Too soon old too late smart.

Engines can be rebuilt or replaced, tires can be bought.

I have car envy of 63 Countrymans car, way cool looking and practical.

Getting wood thinking about wood.

I'd post it over on the MINI Forum also....probably more local UK viewers there.

As for fair price...someone will pay what they are willing to pay ( I'm sure there's a more poetic term..lol )

I've seen them go for 500GBP up to silly amounts like 15,000GBP...but that has to be a perfect car.

Is the 78 a MAXI, 1800, MINI ?  ....I'd do like the Beamer guy says...lol
