I must be getting old, I've got the Q tower setup not the 1A.
It does say can be used with or without rain gutters.

They are close in looks, I was mistaken.

I don't leave it on all the time. Just install it when needed.

That is what I use.
Cool, do the locks actually help it not stolen...I mean, I guess anyone who spends enough time jiggling a paper clip would unlock it...but are the locks an actual deterrent?....I live in Atlanta.
There's one on each tower, so that makes it 4 times harder. Just like anything, if they want it bad enough, they'll get it. I've never lost one.

Would that work on a pre MkIV car with a drip rail?
It should work fine, all the gutter ones seem to be of the same design. Just make sure the brackets are slim enough with the rubber protector installed to clear the top of the door frame when opening.

Buy it from SXSMAN or Craigslist, there are always a bunch for sale and they are usually in great shape. Yakima can get you a key or locks if needed. My last one cost me $25.

Yes, I've used this rack, mostly for hauling a canoe.
Don't have a current use for it, have been wanting to put it on craigs list, haven't gotten off my duff to do it.
In review, I liked it and would recommend it.
(I'd look on craigslist first for a used one)
Selling mine for $20-30

I've been wanting a roof rack for a long time, I've found this roof rack. Just wanted to ask, have any of you brought this roor rack before, is it a good brand?
