Did you look at the Ant ?

I would say that $20 is safe on the "read" part.......

Dr Tom's slighty breathed on pick up >  He does have a rare hand built fiber-glass mini (clubman) that was used for ice racing in one of those frozen states to the North . Frame and cage are made of steel.

It will be for sale sometime in the near future. Not sure if the Richard Longman engine will go with it or another engine.

As for glass-fiber not rusting, that's your body, it dries out over time and can need serious repair. The frame made of steel rusts, just like the monocoque structure of a mini.  You know they also make vans and station wagons, don't you ? And even some for the beach.

And pixieracing, I like the sound of your project. I've only been to a few clinics on electric cars and have many more questions than answers, looking forward to updates.

Robster, if you're not familiar with the pick up, this will be a total loss to you. This is rare > //www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1971-AUSTIN-ANT-/331380532131?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item4d27d1a3a3

Very few ants were built, fewer remain.

Has a way fool factor in my book.( I hadn't seen this one on ebay, was posted on FB by a local club member in Dayton

SXYMAN that ant thing is the ugliest thing I ever saw, sorry.

If your friend Dr. Tom is making those pickups I would love to see how he does it - a panel saw? Hmmmm.  Maybe Mr Issigonis doesn't approve of the way your friends are chopping up good minis like that, but I do like the paint job....sweeeeet.

Does he make just the pickup bodies to sell just by themselves?  Where does he get the rear windows? I bet he could sell a lot of them by providing very clear instructions.  I think I want to order a club cab like my chevy lol.  Or just try it with a angle grinder if I could find a rear window...maybe use my existing one hmmmmmmmm.

Amazing what you found with just a little Googling.  Especially Pamela Anderson oh yeah baby.  You do like girls right?  With a name like SXYMAN wasn't sure lol

SXSMAN, I think that your are referring to toybox Racing with the Kimes mini, and yes, the nelsons to make a beautiful race car.

Pixieracing used to race Pixie, the mini and a crazy fast Moke. And wrritten a great book on prepping a mini racer

I am interested.

PS, I followed the rebuilding of Bob Kimes mini with great interest. Very nice work.

Last I heard the "ice box" mini went to Arizona. Bob is missed.

if anyone interested in electric mini let me know we will start a blog and go for it ,   my roadster is unbelivable how quick it is  with only a 42 hp motor  0 to 40 times is  3 sec ,it just squirts ,  the next project will be much faster ,  with over 100 hp at the wheels , but its a diifrent hp all at the  bottom end  ,  i have to drive around in third or forth   if i use second it squeels the tires and first  just lites them up in smoke.

Even found some pics online.  You guys should get Googling, you'll be amazed what you find.

Someone should do a body kit for that, fiberglass doesn't rust and its easier to fix.

But I worry about safety with an electric car and all that glass fiber.

My apologies to pixieracing for stepping in.  I think an electric fiberglass Mini would be stellar!

Pixie,

I would love to hear more about the electric stuff;  Do you have good starting places such as good forums, or web links, or perhaps more info on your project?

Cheers

It's been fun, but this place is done. I have no hatred, and appreciate the good times. But this place now belongs to Tony and his pink mini.

To my knowledge, nobody has built a Moke in fiberglass, but the metal body is being reproduced in China.  FYI, most fiberglass bodies are actually heavier than the metal originals!   Contact me at Mini Mania if interested!

Not exactly a Moke Jemal but Jimini II produced a fiberglass "Mokeish" kit looking car with a wider interior space weighing in at 1140 lbs. The first Jimini models were steel.

Our host has a fiberglass pickup body. You would have to call to inquire about it.

"How can anything bigger be mini?"

hi  im looking to make a electric moke after my roadster converstion,   its very quick, now to tripple the hp  to 100 and double the batteries  to 32kw at 144v in a super light weight moke,   will be a killer.   so im looking for a fiberglass moke body or pick up truck body.
