Dimitris!  I was thinking about you today, remembering some of your "Friday Funnies".... Thinking we could use some this week!

I think everyone has calmed down a bit... we really don't wish to force people to disclose personal information.  Here is what I am going to try... the next time we suspect a "troll", or if someone gets very disruptive, I'm going to ask that person to CALL me in person on the phone to see if we can agree on behavior, and so I can assess if the person is 'real'.  If he/she is not willing to let me decide by TALKING to me, I'll pull the plug on them!  If you irritate people and are not willing to contact me to prove your good intentions, you get axed!

I won't extend this to people that just irritate me!

Apology accepted. I figured if you knew those details you're one big A hole. The point here is that you are probably unaware, as are the rest of the staff at minimania, what is being said on here 24/7. Can't really expect 1 guy with a full time job to read this much on a daily basis. I would like to think anything demeaning or inappropriate would be dealt with swiftly if you did see them. This is why I would suggest a couple moderators of good standing in the community to read daily post. If there are problems that arise they can deal with it accordingly and most importantly without abusing power. Keeping a peaceful family on your website only works in your favor as you have a business stapled to it. Think job security. Fact is I don't post much here anymore or even read much of the post unless something jumps out at me. I'm one of these guys who has been turned off over the years by the atmosphere. It's unfortunate because there is an enormous amount of information to be gained from mm and several great people who frequent your website. I was new once too and got a great deal of help by coming here. Since I am so fond of these cars as well as seeing new folks get the help they need, I hate to see a great resource and community ruined by a few. I created my own little niche in the mini world to help folks out and create some friends. I'm not in my shop making money hand over fist. This is a hobby for me. I sell a limited supply of parts, mainly panels, to support my habit and help raise money to pay the small cost of running a website. I've had guys come out and get involved with the paint and body work on their beloved little cars. Work they wouldn't be able to do otherwise, which to me is pretty stinking cool.

i remember the time people complaining about the forum being very quit. Funnily though it has turned all the way around to the opposite direction. Anonymity is a right but trolling has its limits as well i vote yes to the very fist question Jemal posted.

Yeah, but I'd be worried about what's on top of the garage. Residential roofs ae not designed to carry 2 metres or more of snow. Especially in one huge dump.

I would have to drive a long way to find some snow.  How about with some surf and sand?

Hahaha... very good!  Looks kinda like a Smart Car... Perhaps I didn't think this through very well.... I was thinking of a picture showing the Mini being used in the inclement conditions.  But dust off enough snow so we can see it's a Mini and I'll consider it!  Poor thing has to live outside?

I think I even read where racism was used on here recently which caused someone to leave. There are people who don't like this forum because some sour grapes ruined it for them. They don't like asking questions on here. So there you have it. They wouldn't tell you but I've heard some of the stories and that's "the word on the street". Sit back and let people go at each others throats without stepping in if you like. It's your sandbox.

94t, I'm very sorry for apparently striking a nerve... and no, I was not involved in any of the mentioned events.  I actually don't know who you are "in real life" other than remembering that your avatar used to have a famous Jack Nicholson face from a well know movie....  I CERTAINLY did not intend to single out your ex or unpleasant history with my remark.

As for "retsbor" and:

"Wouldn't say I'm "afraid" to post. Just trying to save face so that I can still post under my normal username without backlash. And just as a little bonus, my identity is going to be pretty hard to trace through IP's and all that jazz. Randomizer/anonymizer just to be safe. I'm just using this anonymity that is so beloved by the hosts."

Don't worry, there's ZERO chance that I care who you are, cover your tracks from a bunch of Mini car people if you're that paranoid!  But do you seriously not get what I mean about anonymity?  Wow...  I don't FAVOR it.... it is at the root of the INCREASE in the blatant rudeness and disregard for others' feelings that our internet world fosters.   Your anonymous post is a perfect example.  I would have a lot more respect for you (as would others I'm sure) if you just stated your view as your normal (anonymous!) self!   As Sherriff Buford T. Justice said so eloquently in one of my favorite movies..."What the HELL is the world coming to"

Maybe so Alex but i would think it common courtesy to ask before i used anyones artwork or avatar, maybe it is considered fair game once put onto the internet.

Hey maybe it is an internet degree as well.

Alex, do you suppose that English 101 might have been a required course for that double degree?

That's up to Might Mouse if he wants to forgive and forget but what you called him was totally un called for so it may take a while or maybe never, he may be looking for you to become a "normal" board member and thinks that maybe that has not happened yet. Not his words just my thoughts.

BTW did you think or seek permission to use CMU's artwork for its next upcoming event in April 2015 in your avatar ? If not it may be wise to do so, again just my thoughts and things that maybe you should consider before inserting your foot in your mouth.

If in doubt, flat out. Colin Mc Rae MBE 1968-2007.

I called Custard on him just after he started with his brand of idiocy, and like so many other times the selective deafness/blindness kicked in.
Troll, pure and simple.

At least our long-standing Nigerian PITA occasionally asked sensible questions and learnt from the answers.
