Hey Craig... isn't that what Thanksgiving weekend is all about?

This really takes me back.  The hair lip Mini came about shortly after I joined the forum, before I owned a Mini.

My first  post was a question about a local (Santa Rosa, CA) classic Mini dealer who is no longer in business selling newer Minis titled as older ones, and I was given the newbie treatment.  That's where I first learned about and heard the term "Revin".  Incidentally, our host bought out that business several years ago.

Shortly after that was when Backstay and Jimguam joined.  Quicksilver came after that.

its kind of like a semi-dis functional family that gets back together every few years at reunions and reminisces about the old times.

I don't post here very often any more because life got busy and I have way too many hobbies of which the Mini carves out one small piece of my time. But I still check in fairly often, and I'm glad this place still has some of the original participants.

"I drive a Mini. What are you compensating for?"

hotel..I do NOT drink any more btw  lets not forget hotel cal. I sold and delivered 400 plus classic minis in last 18 years.. .sure some were MOT failures  BUT  unlike your buddy BP. who stole 50 deposits of $20k EACH.for ghost v tec.s. ( this according to his indictment in Fulton Co GA.. I delivered ALL the 400 plus minis WITH a proper title..   You know what makes this so BAD about BP.  it ALSO stole deposits in the early 80s. and when Det Ed Benifield  arrested him recently.  BP still  had them warrants outstanding..  real piece of work . YOUR buddy . bobby pack.. btw.  why would you defend a KNOWN and convicted THIEF  like bobby pack??   btw.. see the miserable mormon mafia are back.. quick question WHY would a  man want MORE than one wife??

Taking the thread another direction...

Emanuel, whichever forum the GT6 picture is from, you may want to suggest the following.  Mk1/2 GT6 have a very similar front profile to the Spitfires up through Mk3 (up to the valve cover bulge).  With as much damage as is shown in the picture, it might be easier for the owner to cut off the nose from a more common Spit and weld it onto the front of that bonnet to save the front edge.  In the end there will be a lot less filler than will be required to save that bonnet.

Bill!! Put the beer down and read the post again. I did not say I dont know them,  I said I have no idea where they are but thanks for the info. I had actually forgot Spencers first name. I have searched and found Bobby and maybe Spencer on facebook and have sent friend request. Not sure if the Spencer I have found is the correct one. Yea, them was the good old days. Bought a few cars from Bobby back in the 80s. He brought in quality rust free cars not MOT failures.

Lighten up and wish TurbDave a Happy 65th Birthday, and the rest of our American friend a Happy Thanksgivng.

Don't think Dave is anywhere near that age and if he is he is aging well, but Steve Coopertune is 67 Happy b'day Steve.

The thread should be called Ned Flanders right Zippy.

MY apologies to Turbodave... didn't meat to age you prematurely

And to Steve Coopertune whose birthday it is/was... he said "It's also my 65th birthday 11/27/49." Geez yer gettin old... only 28 days behind me.

(You guys look and sound the same from here!)

Yes Steve I dont do much here anymore. I do visit regular but dont post much. The only classic we still have is the pup. We have the 06 S, a 14 Countryman, and still have the Lotus. Semi retired now and just dont work on cars like I used to.

Bill, I have no idea where those guys are. Figured you would know since you were so bent on keeping up with them. Bobby is the only one I ever knew to do something wrong. Last I heard he was exporting motorcycles. I think Spencer moved back to England to care for his failing health dad which I would guess has now passed. Thought you said all these guys were going to jail forever? Guess you were wrong.

We all have friends and some have family members over time who have done something wrong or broke the law. Hell I have two friends who shot and killed someone. The true meaning of being a friend is not to quit being a friend if something like that happens but to try to help them get back to being the person they should be.

Any of you newbies want the full Hairlip Mini story with pictures of the car I still have those but you need to contact by email. Will not post those here.

Interesting definition on "twat".

Now "twit" on the other hand is more interesting and fitting for certain grumps on here.
